Seriously. Great moments, great story, but after last year's playoffs and this year's season with MIN, I'm happy with keeping him a fond memory compartmentalized to 2023-24.

I feel like Donte worked with a coach like Thibs because he's a quick shooter and instant decision maker with the ball, mostly to get the ball up.

Without Thibs, I don't know if Donte has the same value in our offense, as he isn't a secondary creator, which is what we really need along with better point of attack defense and Rim protection to mitigate Brunson and KAT, respectively.

Any chance Ben Simmons wont suck ass here? lmao

Has the size and creation and track record to do what we ask Hart to do lol

Why did we get rid of him again?

Looks like Jerry West's prediction of him becoming better than RJ Barrett is right

We got rid of Grimes and Obi because of Thibs. Foolishness.

Yeah, it feels like Leon had a deal with Thibs that he either wins his way or gets fired by 2025. (By his way, I mean winning the championship)
I will only cherish the wins and ignore everything else, because that's the only way to survive as a Knicks fan.

Probably has to do with Mikal being soft

Bol Bol for a min signing? Horford? I’d sign both if possible. Bol squared has skills and can be solid off the bench.

My favorite signing for the MLE would be Oubre. He signed for a similar amount last year and he’d be a great sixth man.

But some veteran bench depth would help.
Trust but verify.

FWIW, he played really well alongside Brunson. Like they have a chemistry advantage that I was expecting with Bridges (which was missing).
Not looking to trade high value for Donte, but how he plays on offense with JB is something we very much have been missing.

Also has an attractive contract though next year that would change. If we did re-obtain him, I would wonder if he would give us some sort of a discount to play with the Nova-Knicks

He was 3rd in 3pt makes for the whole 2023-24 season behind Luka and Steph

He didn't get anywhere near the same freedom he had with us in Minny

His ability to make 3s in various ways: catch and shoot, off the dribble, or set shots, and ability to create space off the dribble and get off his shots in the smallest space, and ability to relocate himself to get open opened up our offense in ways that let JB and Randle thrive offensively

And as the season went on, he continued improving his drives, cuts, and finishes in the paint, Indy couldn't stop him in the series

With KAT not shooting as many 3s as we want him to, we need all the 3pt shooting help we can to open up our offense

You can't get a Steph because he's untouchable but if you get a Donte, he's pretty much YOUR Steph... his gravity (3pt shooting PLUS drives/ cuts to the rim) for our team imo was so immense and so overlooked

It depends… If the plan is to move Mitch to the starting line up and Hart to the bench I think the knicks would need different things

In that case I would think they would want a cheap defensive back up center.

Additionally we could use some more self creation on the bench and on the roster in general. If possible as a sg/sf since if Hart moves to the bench Hart/Mcbride will likely be our bench back court.

Also after the Pacers I think we need someone bigger on the roster who can play PF and who has range

So in no particular order I think we need someone

A rim running big
A stretch 4 who can create a little off the ball
A bench microwave scorer

Options:

PG: Schoreder, RW, Spencer Dinwidie, Brogdon, Tre Jones, Tyus Jones, Lowry, Payne, Delon, Jared Butler, Exum, Fultz, Kevin Porter Jr,

Small Wings: Shamet, Bruce Brown, Luke Kennard, GP2, Timmy, Malik, Gary Trent Jr, Melton, Gary Harris (TO), Burks, Seth

Big Wings: Precious, Yabusele, Boucher, Prince, Batum, Ben Simmons, Coffey, Nance Jr, Lyles, Bol Bol, Watford, PJ Tucker, Cancar

Centers: Horford, Lopez, Capela, Kornet, Bassey, Reed, Byrant, Mamu, Bagley, Mason, Kevon, Hayes, Kai Jones,

I almost sure Aldama, Bobby, NAW, Jerome, DLO, LaRavia would ask for more money that we can pay.

CP3 should go to West Coast.

I dont think they will force the new coach to play KAT as a PF.

Thus, I suspect the Front Office will not target a Center in Free Agency. At least one that demands playing time such as Capela, Lopez or Horford.

Because, they will want to avoid to exclude Mitch or the new center from the rotation if KAT is used as a Center.

If needed, they can play Huk or a big wing like Precious/Boucher as a Center.

Might as well get under it with 2 expirings/flipable contracts (Mitch,Mikal) and a great locker room guy (hart) and a local kid for the fans (Kolek) and a few early 2nds

Wasn't their an italian point guard too?

I can't think of him, but now I want Pablo Prigioni (Argentina) to be in the HC competition.

Absolutely Think he is a great fit bc he can play 1 and do all the things Brunson cant do.
