Murray-Boyles. The guy Toronto picked 9th overall.
Knightro, you posted a chart showing where all of the prominent media guys mocked Jase (it was very encouraging)…do you have a source for a Penda version?
I’m assuming some will find it a cause for optimism, because I’ve seen him mocked generally as a frp
Jase 15th
Penda 29th
Interesting dichotomy with the two Magic draft picks.
The analytics love Jase more than the scouts do.
The scouts love Noah more than the analytics do.

I feel like the scouts going out and seeing him in person and looking at what does on the court visually makes a difference compared to translating internationally players with analytics. Maybe?

Hopefully he turns into a decent player down the way that can help. Otherwise it's not a bad swing. Seems to have a lot of potential.
I caught that too. He clear doesn’t follow the Magic and other panelist got awkward instead of correcting him lol.
Windhorst is an arrogant blowhard but I always listen to his pod because he IS connected and his co-hosts and guests are good - when he's not rudely talking over them.
Whenever he brings up draftees/prospects, he usually says "I don't cover college players or scouting" and I just think "WTF do you do - isn't that kind of related?". I don't expect him to be Givony, but even us unpaid fans do a little homework...when I saw him sitting at that table, I was just thinking WHY?
It sort of self-affirming when he screwed up

Pretty consistently dismissive of the Magic over the years...again, Bontemps and, especially, McMahon, and Pelton, etc are great but listening to Windhorst is the price of admission to the podcast.

Re: #32: Welcome to Orlando, Noah Penda!
Been watching all I can find of him on YouTube and the one name that kept popping into my head was Draymond Green (minus the dirty stuff)
Everything about his style of play reminds me of him
Hopefully mos can find a role for him, which is what made Draymond the success he was.
I will say, while I was impressed with a lot of his game, he is one of the worst "bigs" I've seen at finishing near the rim. Like I've seen him miss more layups than 6' jase. Post ups, close shots, floaters.....not good at all
Obviously that can be fixed, but still surprising and makes me doubt he's ever a double digit average guy, probably stats close to Draymond at his peak

Re: #32: Welcome to Orlando, Noah Penda!
If he can just find a way to shoot even league average from 3 or at least become a reliable corner specialist, I think he could be one of the better picks of the draft. From a pure culture perspective, he fits like a **** glove. His motor is off the charts, and I could absolutely see him finding minutes in this rotation quicker than people may think with how hard he defends.

Penda France under 20 Footage
The jumpshot doesn't look broken form wise......no hitch.....doesn't look flat.....seems like he just has to rep it out

Impressed by his presser. Comes as a intelligent man. We can watch his carrier vs Fleming

My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

His worst game of the tournament was against Spain when he hit the game winner at the end of the clip.KillMonger wrote:Penda France under 20 Footage

Re: #32: Welcome to Orlando, Noah Penda!
I like this guy and I see the vision. I’m concerned about his finishing around the basket. Doesn’t seem like he has a-lot of finishing touch. Is that something that can be improved on? Because right now he has Biyombo like hands…

Is it just me but his offensive highlights he seemed to be "ground-bound" aka WCJ-like
Its like he really doesnt have the lift inside the paint in scoring during set-plays

I was watching Collin Murray-Boyles, and he has the same kind of game.RookieStar wrote:Is it just me but his offensive highlights he seemed to be "ground-bound" aka WCJ-like

Windy was also the one who said that Weltman sat through the deadline, only to be contradicted by Jake Fischer who did mention last month that the Magic were actually active pursuing Fox.
