Ball was always going to be an injury risk going forward. His injury was really unfortunate because at the time he was balling out and the team was exciting to watch. Okoro is still young. Pretty decent defender. Maybe this opens up a chance to keep Tre Jones if the price isn't outrageous.

i think other than a center upgrade, adding another scorer/shooter should probably be the top priority to address in this offseason. just don't wanna be in a situation where you've got no reliable shooters beyond coby/huerter, and basically no reliable scorers beyond coby

(having vucevic in the mix would theoretically address that need, but i don't want to even contemplate a scenario where he's still on the roster when the season starts)

Fully agree. Vuc is the security blanket on offense.

We need to let this new core sink or swim without Vuc.

i had the horrifying momentary thought of "yknow...if you could swap pat+vucevic for beal, and beal was willing to come off the bench, that could maybe kinda work..."

Yeah ideally if Tre comes back Ayo would be replaced with a guy off the bench that can get buckets ala Tre Mann. Someone that can play fast and create their own offense.

I'm guessing Tre Jones is brought back, and I'd like that. Carter waived/bought out if they want to sign someone. Thoughts on Jake LaRavia? could be a sneaky good signing.

One of the best players in the league by EPM and best defenders by Defensive EPM, I think other stats like RAPM say the same thing.
I'd assume we'd have to offer a multi-year full MLE since he declined a 1 year $15M PO.

Why another mediocre guard? Don't we have more than enough guards Giddey, Coby, Ayo, Huerter, Carter, and Terry...Anyone we bring in is likely the "5th" guard behind giddey, Coby, Ayo and Huerter at this point unless one of them is moved.

I'm fine with adding Jones back if it means we're dumping Carter, Terry and more, but otherwise we just keep adding mediocre players that wont get playing time (i never understood why we even signed Carter in the first damn place)

Gobert is 35 36 Player option for 36.

Ok, then Jones. He's a very good PG/POA defender. I just want to add a guy with our one remaining slot who will be good enough to push either of (last year's version of) PWill or Ayo out of the rotation completely (and hey, if they are good enough to win those minutes, great). I also want 0 minutes for Carter and Terry and Phillips.
