Suddenly I am happy to be at the tax line.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Pretty sure they can sign a vet minimum contract because they have 2 non guaranteed contracts on the roster and those players can be waived well before the trade deadline.

RJ for Norm works. I wonder if the Clippers , not wanting to extend Norm would look to move him. We could flip Norm for Monk probably too if we wanted and use Monk off the bench. Shaving that 8-9 million means we have room to pursue a real back up C.

He was on a minimum this year, so it’s likely he’d take another to play back up big on a team that hopes to compete. We know he can’t shoot but if he accepts he’s a passing big rather than a PG we could likely live with that given all our second unit shooters i.e. Gradey, JaKobe, Ochai and Battle!

So is this definitive proof that Grange is on RealGM? :o :o

Can someone tell me if the Raps can use the MLE?

Alexander-Walker would fit in well, and maybe they offer him a starting role at SG to seal the deal

Not with the current roster. They would go into the tax. They can use the tax-payer MLE if they are willing to be tax payers.

Even if they did, NAW isn't coming here for the MLE. He'll have much better team situations available to him at that price.

I wouldn't keep RJ past this season. I want to see how much juice Ingram and IQ have. Then it'll be good to leave an opening for an emerging talent on our team. Walter, Barnes, CMB and Dick project to be better than RJ as scorers.

What? No.

None of those guys project to be better scorers than RJ. Of all his perceived faults, offense isn’t really one of them.

All of these guys are projected to be more variable/versatile on offense. Offense is RJ biggest flaw. RJ can't do anything, just drive to the basket and not really efficient. No bag, no jumper, no off the dribble three, no d, small frame. His limitations on offense are brutal.

Ya. Ok.

He sure drops 30+ a lot for a dude with such limited offense.

8 times is a lot for the leading scorer of a team ? In 82 games ? Ok bud, RJ has the highest usage of all with nearly 29%. That's underwhelming. Gradey had about 4 games with 30+ points. As a sophomore. Everyone knows he's limited and it's not a critic, it's just facts.

Just go watch some curling.

RJ scored 30+ 9 times (and 29 twice) in 58 games last season whereas Gradey scored 30+ 3 times in 54 games. I’d consider a 30-point performance every other week (on average) to be pretty close to a lot for someone that “has no bag” and “brutal offensive limitations”.

Did you see this video of Dennis Schröder that emerged Saturday night? We've been reporting all week that Sacramento is regarded as a significantly strong contender to sign Schröder away from the Pistons … and it certainly appears as though the 31-year-old does not expect to be back in Motown.

"Yeah I want to stay in Detroit fo' sure," Schröder said. "But Detroit ain't waiting for me, I can tell you that much. Detroit ain't waiting for me."

The Pistons are said to be confident they can weather the loss of Schröder with Jaden Ivey poised to return from long-term injury. Also: Alexander-Walker is regarded as a long-distance shooter (38.1%) to theoretically provide a boost from the perimeter in the event Detroit encounters any issues re-signing Malik Beasley.

Schröder has already played for nine teams in his NBA career: Hawks, Thunder, Lakers (twice), Celtics, Rockets, Raptors, Nets, Warriors and Pistons.

Charlotte and Memphis are two teams that keep coming up as likely suitors for Ty Jerome, who is now regarded as a lock to leave Cleveland to find the deal he is known to be seeking that starts at (or at worst adjacent) to the full $14.1 million midlevel exception.

To add to another Fischer report from Saturday night: The Clippers have also been described as a team to watch, alongside San Antonio, in the Luke Kornet chase.

Just over the tax line in reality. Only bumping up against the first apron because even “unlikely” bonuses count for apron purposes.
