To give a sense of how high I am on CMB, this is what I've said about him multiple times...before the Raptors drafted him:

CMB is probably the only non-freshman I would take in the lottery. The freshman class is just way too strong this year, but CMB is that impressive IMO. I've been a big fan of his game since last year's draft cycle when he was a freshman.

If he entered the draft last year I probably would have had him #1 on my big board. My actual #1 was Nikola Topic pretty much all season. Which just goes to show how weak last year's draft was at the top, considering my admitted blind spot when it comes to evaluating international prospects, yet I had an international prospect #1 on my 2024 big board.

If CMB had declared for the draft last year, he would have been ranked #1 on my personal big board. IMO he made a mistake by not declaring last year, because I think he would have went higher in last year's draft than he'll end up going this year.

The only thing I would say differently now is, I'm thankful CMB didn't declare for the 2024 draft because he wouldn't have ended up being a Raptor.

Anyone see that video of rich paul on reddit? Basically told the suns theyre khamans #1 choice and he’ll make sure he gets there if brooklyn passes. Not sure if it affected whether the raptors passed

Not even sure I would call Pelton a stats guy since his rankings are a hybrid. I think he uses historical adjustments for conferences so the ACC which was historically the best conference, but currently the worst of the power conferences by a large margin was severely overweighted while the SEC was probably ranked 2 or 3. He also doesn't factor in teammate strength which is why he had all Duke guys super high, essentially Duke being dominant in a crap ACC broke his model this year.

If someone has the ESPN draft coverage with Bilas and Perk they were showing Maluach and CMB prepick and talking about both, but focusing a little more on CMB as Silver was walking up to the stage.
Since the Raptors don't leak I guess the NBA leaked to ESPN? CMB was a surprise to many in the media so why did ESPN know more than anyone else?

I think it was the Bilas factor. He had him at 7 if I recall correctly so there was a chunk of tv time being given to CMB as Bilas was talking him up.
