Hard to watch Beringer in that video offensively. Really hard to watch.

Re: The Joan Beringer Thread
Good find. Always where he needs to be, continuously creating space for his teammates, setting picks and boxing out, hustling for rebounds. Midrange not there yet but good mechanics and timing makes it promising. Runs the floor, attacks the basket, is always focused and has solid fundamentals. Great hands. Very excited to watch this kid develop.

Re: The Joan Beringer Thread
Historically speaking, what's the floor for guys like him? 7', freakish athlete...(Exciting but not ultra rare), good hands and runs floor well....(Starting to raise floor), reportedly excellent work ethic and hustles non-stop on the floor...(To me this sets his floor at a comfortable NBA backup). It's not the size and athleticism, it's not the hands and running the floor, honestly it's his intensity and work ethic that has me excited (if it's true), you just don't see guys with his tools who want to work and play that hard not succeed.

They could be if a player doesn't have the other parts, but when combined with the other parts, it matters

Well we have a ready made nickname for whenever he misses a free throw:
Joan of No Arc
Or Joan of Brick if you prefer.
Joan of No Arc

Re: The Joan Beringer Thread
Keep it simple.....Baron. Ties to his French heritage, close enough to the pronunciation of his last name, and ties to Minnesota frozen pizza entity Red Baron.
Alley oop = A le loup = translates to "has the wolf"

At the introduction Joan said he learned English in part by watching TV series like Starting 5 starring..... Anthony Edwards.

Big Ticket was one of the most stupid nicknames ever. Did Kevin Harlan create that one? AK47, The Glove and The Mailman 3 of the best ever.

Joan of Development Arc. Final answer. I don't like Baron. Seems more German to me.

Re: The Joan Beringer Thread
If they think his shot could develop, given his agility and physical tools, could they consider developing him as a 4/5? An answer to Holmgren? Then Rocco as the big banger when needed?
Considering the contracts that Julius and Naz signed, it opens the window to develop him that way if it works...and move one of the above if he is ready sooner? Call it a pipe dream. A front line of McDaniels, Beringer, and Rocco would be sick.

Indeed if you think in the red baron. I don't see the connection of baron nobility title to France. It's a medieval European title that still exist in several countries, including Spain.
On the other hand, Surrender has a French connection

Another nice one, Le Gabacho.

The word baron comes from the Old French baron, from a Late Latin barō "man; servant, soldier, mercenary"
