Dillon Brooks news and discussion
We haven't had a player like that since Jae Crowder.
Dillon averaged 14 points and 3.7 rebounds shooting 39.7% from three. One of the best defenders in the league.
He can score the ball. A couple the seasons he averaged over 17 points per game on winning teams. He is better offensively than most of the best perimeter defenders in the league.
On defense you can put him on any player. Literally. He is gonna fight every screen and chase his man all over the court. He creates havoc. His strength allows him to defend around the rim better than most 6'6 players.

Re: Dillon Brooks news and discussion
I'm perfectly fine with Brooks because he is a pest to the other team. He and Booker also used to talk smack to each other back a few years, maybe 5.
But seeing him talking smack to the other team's players while sticking up for Suns players is a thing to look forward to.
Assuming Suns dont trade him.

Gambo:
Different NBA coach told me “everyone hates Dillon Brooks until he plays for you. Said he is dead serious about the game and will do everything you want and need. Can guard 1-3 and sometimes 4. Guards SGA, Bron, Luka, Curry, KD and even AD. Will make shots has improved his shooting.
Said he’s like Draymond and does better on good teams because he gets frustrated with losing and that’s when some of his foolishness comes out more”
So that is something to keep an eye on here.

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Not as trash as his little buddy green, but not far off. One OK shooting season on a very good team where noone paid attention to him, so he was open. He had the 8th worst net rating (a negative one) of the 9 man rotation the Rockets were usually using. At least his contract doesnt suck too bad. Other than being an irritating, desplicable fk wether he is on my team or not i dont care much. It will be a good day when he is not here anymore though.

Not a fan of Brooks by any means, but he'll definitely fill a role. If we end up keeping him, that is.

Brooks isn't going to be happy here so I think we need to trade him. And we better hope like hell Green has a breakout year otherwise we are stuck with that dude until his last year. Nobody else is gonna want to pay an inefficient chucker $36m a year. So the only trade that makes sense to flip for more assets is Brooks. Plenty of playoffs teams are gonna want a guy like that.

Re: Dillon Brooks news and discussion
If (I said IF!!), he is actually staying, how do we expect his relationship to go with our current players (Booker obviously being the real question)? We know that Booker has trained with Green, so there is some familiarity there but all we know is that Brooks has been an ABSOLUTE ASS HOLE during games against us and who knows if that's just gamesmanship that no one takes personal or is they actually hate this dude. Any mention or record of interaction between this dude and our players since being traded to us? Anyone seen any post of him reaching out or any of the Suns reaching out to welcome him. Are him and Booker up north right now making a video like Book and D-Lo!!

I hate playing against Dillon Brooks. I also hated playing against CP3. I imagine I'll enjoy what Dillon Brooks brings to the team. Hopefully Suns keep him.

Re: Dillon Brooks news and discussion
I appreciated CP3 way more than Brooks. Sure Chris does the annoying foul baiting, but he's undeniably fun to watch. Brooks decides to say stupid **** and then play poorly.Qwigglez wrote:I hate playing against Dillon Brooks. I also hated playing against CP3. By the end of the season probably 95% of us will like him. Myself, im not sold yet. But usually these d*ckhead guys grow on you when they are on your team. Was same with CP3. You get amused when he starts his antics. Whatever it takes to win, no?

Re: Dillon Brooks news and discussion
Based off watching how soft and uncaring our stars were last year, what he brings is much welcomed. No more “oh well” attitude when we lose games. Finally someone in that locker room that cares! Welcome Dillion

He’s not going to be happy here? Where is that information coming from. If not from a source, how do you come to that conclusion. I come to a different conclusion, I think he is welcoming the chance to be a leader on this team.

Love the brooks pickup. This team will have an identity with him.

Brooks goes from a top tier contending team to a crumbling gawdawful squad in the midst of some halfazzed over haul by a delusional owner and his lackey front office.
What’s there not to like?
Oh, and he gets to pay state income tax.
Green has responded with a cryptic positive message… Brooks acknowledged his former team’s thanks. Nothing more.
I’m with Biff on this one

Brian Gregory statement on Dillon Brooks:
"Dillon embodies the grit and toughness we value, bringing a fearless mentality to the court.
He consistently plays at an NBA All-Defensive Team level while also positively affecting our offense in a multitude of ways. He will make an
immediate impact on our organization."
