Reading this thread since the season ended 2+ months ago there are about 57 different plans on what we should do. And now we'll finally start getting some clarity. It's important to remember that it takes 2 (or more) teams to make a trade and players have to agree to sign here. Horst may very well target certain players that sign elsewhere for more money. Or for other reasons. And he may target players in trades but the other GM may balk. Some of the proposed moves on here are interesting. Many are unrealistic (we'd all like to trade our junk for good players but come on).

We'll know the deals that get done but we'll never know what players were targeted but couldn't get done.

Regardless of how things shake out, every move we make will have some who like most of the moves, some will like some of the moves and not like some of the moves. And a few on here will hate every move because that's what they do. It's always easy to opine on what "should have been done" when we don't know what's actually happening behind the scenes.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Just please keep GTJ, Sims and Green.

Biggest issue with Brook leaving is Giannis at center during the regular season.

He doesn't want the beating on his body as the only big and the team starts off slow..... Writing will be on the wall

Marks on LAL outlook.

"Doncic is eligible starting on Aug. 2 to sign up to a four-year, $229 million extension. The Lakers could have most of their $14.1 million non-tax midlevel exception but only if Finney-Smith declines his option and does not re-sign. The Lakers are $20 million below the first apron if the forward doesn't return."

If lose lose Brook for the tax payer MLE. What a **** up.

Where do people get the idea Giannis doesn't want the beating? I heard him state several weeks ago that the NBA is too soft and he would welcome being able to play more physical and be played more physical.

Bobby and Sims are the centers.

Well Bobby is a turn style on D and offers zero rim protection. Doc refused to play Sims with Giannis, so there's that.

BP is not a turnstyle on defense and no repetition of this falsehood makes it any truer. He does offer no rim protection, so you got that half right.

I love Joplins game. Effort, energy, hit the 3, decent defense. He’s a big intangibles guy.

Will be rooting for him.

And KPJ. I expect all these things to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if numerous deals were already done.

my main goal for this offseason is to retain our young guys. GTJ, KPJ, Rollins, & Sims. Bring those 4 back & extend AJ Green and I'll be pretty happy

Doc playing Taurean Prince at the 2 alongside Kuzma at the 3 for so long was one of the most baffling coaches decisions I’ve ever seen.

Whether Doc and Horst have internalized we need an actual SF would be very different than if we go into the season banking on either of them again.

Sign KPjr and Rollins. I don’t mind Trent on a reasonable shorter term deal. Let the rest walk or sign and trade. Lean into smart switchable defenders that can shoot, pass, or attack a close out. We still desperately need an on ball defender that can stop dribble penetration.
Shoot, Move, and Communicate...

The only party of his game that went backwards was his defense. That was most likely because of a terribly coordinated defense from an absentee coach.

Richards is still a solid backup, but I might not want to spend $5 million on a 3rd stringer. I'd rather pursue Charles Bassey for the minimum.

His defense slid because the Suns made him a starter and he was completely overwhelmed

He's said it multiple times when talking about what Brook brings and how ppl don't understand how good Brook is.

Well Detroit might have gotten a few more million to spend now that Beasley is under investigation. Might impact Trent/Bobby.

So you want them to go out and get several all stars.

Just commit to trying to acquire Austin Reaves w/ the future 1st(s) & an s&t big now. Trent was just a security blanket/settle. He doesn't create for teammates. Some were all in on this Giannis + shooters strategy, as if we don't need another creator for end of games/Giannis-less mins.

Plus Trent could have impeded us getting another rotation player if he got more than 9 million, because that would have taken away another BAE equivalent contract we could offer to truly split the MLE. When one door closes, another opens.

Absolutely. Was Obi Toppin an all star when Indy grabbed him? How about Nesmith?

The Lakers think the world of Reeves. Even if they should deal him, they won't.
