I think whether Randle is back boils down to what price point he will accept.
If he agrees to something on our terms he could get a multi year deal from us.

If he takes his player option with the intention of testing free agency next summer, you have to think the smart thing to do is trade him while he still has a little value for a better fit.

We will find out tomorrow.

I'm confident Randle accept salary cut for next year and sign 4 years deal. The chemistry is this group is good. But i will still let NAW go and go after Tyus.

I don’t see TC signing him to a long-term deal. He went with NAZ, and those 2 are oil and water.

If he takes the PO, fine. Just seems risky to me for him and his agent. Almost kuminga-esk. Julius isn't getting any younger, and WILL regress. His style of play does not age well, and he's past his prime.

I am just hoping he is either dirt cheap (not likely) or moved for a PG.

I'd move Randle to try to get a PG from a team that wants to shed some years on a longer contract.

Derrick White is on a great deal so I doubt we'd get him but who knows.

Randle being on an expiring next year could help out a lot of teams trying to create cap for 2026

Realgm is saying "Julius Randle, Wolves Expected To Sign New Contract". How accurate are these type of speculation reports?

Found this note on ESPN: "Note: Player options on June 29 must be exercised by 5 p.m. ET."

Interestingly Google AI said Midnight :-), I am beginning to think Google AI will tell you whatever you want to hear. Ask Google "How can Twolves win the NBA championship in 2026 and how to turn Dilly into an all star". It's going to tell you "The fictional player Joan Beringer became DPOY in 2026 and Dilly made his first all star appearance by leading the lead in assist and scoring"

If it's a descending contract this is a homerun

Julius Randle is not a home run for anyone … trade him … no team will hoist a trophy with him as a starter

That sucks, it's certainly a homerun for Randle. I feel like we overpaid just about every player on the roster. Ant (max, but don't think he is Super). Conley not living up to his $10m, Gobert is 7Mil extra, Naz 5Mil over, and Randle 5Mil over. We could had sign another all star with that extra money. When is Randle eligible to be traded?

Not what I was hoping. Starting salary on a 3yr/100m contract is almost exactly the amount of his player option this year. So about 31m. So, between Naz and Randle, we are already close to the second apron.

I feel like with no cap space available, we should have called Naz’s and Randle’s bluffs. I think they would have each extended at lower numbers to get security. Not TC’s style though.

This is 20 million more than I expected us to pay him. Even backloaded this means no TPMLE PG and no room to add another PG. This is another example of TC ******g the team over. His defenders will rush to point out how great Randle was last year. That being true doesn’t change the fact that Randle is inconsistent and tends to play better during contract years. He is on the tail end of his prime, and is a defensive liability when paired with Naz. We wasted another season by not adding a PG. Unless of course we trade for one.

It's a team that went to back to back WCF. Everyone can't be overpaid by default

In the second apron age it's important now more than ever to have these salary slots so you can trade them for other players. Besides after Randle got back from injury, the Wolves had some crazy record. Pretty sure it was like an .800 winning percentage. If you had said this was the deal before the OKC series, you would of gushed over this deal
