We’re probably gonna start seeing random tweets about how LaBronze wants to fellate Bam.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Just trying to force the Lakers hand in upgrading their roster even though he/his agency is responsible for the mess.

I think LeBron hates or likes people based on how it serves him in the moment. Both sides here strangely fit for each other right now, and there is already familiarity and comfort there, and wide open finals opportunity as well.

Miami also has the flexibility with Herro and draft capital to swap him out for a different co star although I think Herro would play really well off of LeBron as would a guy like Duncan Robinson.

Would you take Lebron and Bronny for Wiggins Robinson and filler?
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Beal, Dame, and now Lebron... This site must have serious page cache issues.

Mitchell/Kasparas
Herro/Larsson
Wiggins/Jaquez
Bam/Jovic
Ware/? (from SL, not necessarily our guy)

Duncan stays or not. His choice.

Call it a day. Give me pick 3 next season.

Edit: forgot about Highsmith and Burks. They are cheap. They can stay. Otherwise I'm playing g-leaguers.

If we're not trading 1sts, Ware, KP, or Jovic, then I'm all for LeBron.

It seems pretty clear the FO has prioritized getting its finances in order to avoid apron issues/penalties and to have enough cap space for a max player either in 2026 or 2027. As you'll see from the clips below, Riley doesn't seem to have any intention of blowing things up and building through the draft. And given what he said about the CBA, taking on onerous contracts has to be done with forethought and without incurring penalties for being over certain aprons or the repeater tax...etc.

I think this ~minute from Riley says a lot:

https://youtu.be/sK4dKlVUlyM?t=485

Here he is talking about Miami's plans (to about 16'30):

Here is the TL;DW:

https://apnews.com/article/heat-pat-riley-c20be333636def3045911ff6d43d3035

To add some context, Riley spoke at length about how successful he's been at re-tooling and how it usually takes a few years to do (and he gives examples of the re-tool from 2002-2006).

And one more bit (he could be lying, of course):

https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article306034806.html

Read the rest of the article at your own peril, as it is mainly about Herro's extension

What they will ‘likely do’ is besides the point that I’m getting at

FYI, I’ve been making the ‘what they’ll likely do’ point in regards to their so called KD pursuit

Point I’m making now is ‘what they should be doing’ and accumulating assets ought to be their top priority imo

That's fine if that's what you think Miami should be doing, but the only obvious way for Miami to accumulate assets is to trade Bam and Herro. So you're essentially arguing for Miami to roll out a G-league team.

Trading Bam and Herro is my first desire and I've been holding that position for years in response to a loud sect on this board who have clamored for trading Jimmy for years; pretty much immediately after Mia's 2023 finals run, and my consistent response to those comments has been that Mia should blow it up and trade Bam and Herro once Jimmy is gone, so that line of thinking isnt foreign or new to me.

Regarding the idea that Mia would be producing a poor product "G-League" if they were to blow it up, the playoff laughingstock embarrassment against Cleveland proves that they currently have an uncompetitive and unwatchable product with those guys.

That said, I disagree that moving one or both of Bam and Herro is the only way that Mia can accumulate draft assets. I've outlined a few scenarios on how I think they could acquire FRPs.

That would be really hard for me to watch, however it goes. It's probably bad anyway though, so...

So it's likely true Duncan has been talking to the Heat about a new contract.

Please move on Duncan. Burks can replicate at least 75% of what he does, for the vet min thats a good value.

What would a new Duncan contract with us even look like? Are we talking 2/20 or 3/30 kind of deal? I doubt he declines his option without the assurance from the team that he’s coming back for about that much

Return to Miami Heat
