Then what is Barry Jackson talking about with Duncan "opting out of guaranteed money"?

:dontknow:

I believe this is confusion over terminology.

But whatever ... I'm here for no longer paying Duncan. :onfire:

Ya, that initial Shams tweeted was confusing as hell.

If we re-sign this bum, I'm going to be seriously pissed.

Hope we have something lined up. The keep things stable edict from ownership can’t possibly extend that far that we run it back again

Duncan likely returns and that’s hilarious because the whole 2026 plan was just a lie to appease the fanbase and get us to start hoping for something.

“Miami is setting themselves up to have $80M in cap space”

“Miami refuses to take on ANY long term money in Jimmy deals as they have big plans for summer 2026”

This franchise doesn’t have a plan and they don’t even know what direction they want to go in. Wonder what we could’ve actually got for Jimmy

There isn't going to be any big 2026 free agency sweepstakes anyways. It was a dumb plan to begin with, if that even was their plan.

It was definitely the plan, it was why we weren’t entertaining any long term salary with the Jimmy trade. They’re just not good anymore

They must not be cuz Wiggins player option destroys the 2026 plan too.

Whether they thought that Wiggins won't accept it or that he could be moved before then....looks like they were wrong either way.

The Heat finally got two point guards who can dribble has changed the Heats plans. The Heat are very unusual happy about Jakučionis. It appears the direction is now build around Jakučionis, Herro Ware and Bam. However I'm not sure Jovic and Jaquez are safe

The next offseason thread has to be dedicated to Duncan leaving.

They banked on being able to move him for sure, there’s still a chance I guess.

With the way Mitchell contract is constructed is for him to hold the starting spot until Jakučionis is ready

I'm not a Kuminga fan but it does look as he Heat are heading that direction. I'm pretty much expecting it the future plan.

PG: Jakučionis - Mitchell
SG: Herro
SF: Kuminga - Robinson
PF: Adebayo
Ce: Ware

You ride with that...plus Jovic and Jaquez...for the next two years and see what you have. Hopefully by that point, the pick to Charlotte will have conveyed and we'd have a full cupboard moving forward.

Not saying I love being married to this group, but this is the boat we're in.

Return to Miami Heat
