Fluharty has been terrible for nearly three weeks, after being very good for the first two months of the season. I can definitely see him being the odd man out when Garcia comes back in the coming days. I doubt this organization gets rid of Chad Green due to the 10.5 million he is making this year.

I think they proved a long time ago they werent afraid to cut someone owed a lot of money. Does the name Tulo ring any bells?

Fluharty if used against mostly lefties could still be very useful. Despite being shelled the last 2 weeks, his numbers against LHBs are still solid.. and he is yet to give up a HR. Chad Green looks like he throws the most pedestrian combination of pitches. Super straight FB, below average slider, and no deception. He also doesnt hold runners on well at all. He has been used as a mop for a while. I could totally see them cutting him if needed.

Yup. Once Yimi is ready to return, Green's spot isn't safe. Also, the front office's jobs is heavily tied to this season. They'll be all in on trade deadline if the team is competitive. I can see us trading for a bullpen arm.

Rotation remains an issue. Lauer getting hit hard by a pretty poor lineup.

Also, Clase is the worst defensive outfielder they have. Varsho’s absence continues to be significant.

It’s like having Lourdes back except without the arm or the hitting. No evidence thus far that this guy is a big leaguer.

Why would he do that

Getting picked off at 1B with the bases loaded and 2 outs and your best hitter with RISP up.

Yeah, we deserve to lose this after that level of stupidity.

Boner baserunning.
Waste of a video review for no good reason.

That being said the game is going good as Buehler stinks. While the Red Sox aren't happy with Buehler, at least he is only on a one year contract.

Nice inning by Lauer -- does not allow the Sox to get momentum of the Heineman boner.

I can't even fathom why he is leading off that far in that spot at 1B, the Red Sox clearly picked up on him doing it on the preceding pitches too. Even Vlad's mistake in the playoffs was less dumb than that because at least taking a deep secondary lead at 2B in scoring position might get you a run.

Lauer's stuff never really seems too special to me, but somehow he gets results. Not a bad 5 guy. But this rotation could use one more proven starter if they want to be contenders.

I've seen enough, bring Roden back to play LF.

They need another SP for sure if they want to be taken seriously.

Berrios is solid but Gausman/Bassitt are older and too inconsistent at this stage, Scherzer can't be trusted to pitch the remainder of this season, and Lauer is what he is (a mediocre fringe big leaguer who is the best we've got for that role).

I would have pulled Lauer for Yariel here and not let him face Anthony. He's not looked good all game.

Clase is an absolute disaster out there; that's 3 balls he's misplayed in 5 innings. Time for the Jays to accept that he shouldn't be playing up here.

And he was literally at bat a few pitches earlier, when he saw the Red Sox catcher make an extremely risky throw to try to throw out a guy at second base and the bases loaded.

Sometimes you know certain catchers or teams won't take risks with the bases full.... but the Red sox catcher had made it quite clear he was not afraid to.
