Nice trade for the Hornets, Sexton is a good player and young. Looks like a salary dump for the Jazz.

Edit: Sexton is expiring as well, maybe the Jazz wanted an enforcer in Nurkic.

Salary dump giving up a SRP to get off an expiring. How desperate are the Jazz to get Dybantsa, Boozer, or Peterson in the next draft..

The Jazz aren't tanking this year.

What dump? Are they both not expiring contracts with a year left?

Very desperate as they should be.
The new ownership is trying to build a winning culture. The NHL team is attempting to do the same.

The last superstar the Jazz have had was Karl Malone.

They need something to market. I hope WCJ can make a name for himself be something positive for Jazz fans.

No clue how this was the best offer Utah had for Sexton. Feels like they could’ve gotten a better return if they had moved him at the trade deadline.

Except he’s expiring like Nurkic but Nurkic sucks. This is a move to get more touches for their incoming rookies.

It’s crazy Utah having to add value in an expiring Sexton for Nurkic trade.

John Collins contract is even higher. I wonder what they would have to give up to get him off the roster? They apparently want to give most of their minutes to the rookie contract players.

It was quite literally a negative offer. They had to attach a pick. They would’ve been better off buying him out, genuinely. I cannot wrap my head around this.

wtf, they give up a pick to trade FOR Nurkic???? He might be the worst player in the league. Are there any people left in Utah watching this trainwreck?

This could be decent for the Hornets. They've got some good guard depth now behind LaMelo and guys that are durable but that Defense is going to be a huge question mark. Sexton is a career -2.2 DBPM. Kind of scratching my head with their Center rotation. That's been such an issue for that franchise for so long and they've traded basically everyone away and will be relying on Kalkbrenner, the #34 pick from this years draft. They need to see if they can trade a guy like Miles Bridges for a more veteran Center option.
