So apparently, the word is that he's being investigated for his time as a Laker and as a Buck, for manipulating his/total rebounds.
So I guess he could rebound!

Off the cuff, 8M per seems like a ton for a guy who played 8mpg in the playoffs, but it's a pretty tradeable contract. He seems like a glue guy, he looked fine when he did need to play more minutes, and the last year is a team option so he's basically an expiring two seasons from now.

And 8M is like nothing in the NBA nowdays.

He played pretty well whenever they put him out there, and Hartenstein is only there 2 years more max because of their upcoming money crunch. They might see him as a solid backup now who could potentially be a longer term, cheaper answer after losing Hartenstein so they'll reward with him with a modest extension now with the idea of keeping him long term.

Just spit balling. Like you mentioned, he should also be easily tradeable.
