C’s still haven’t picked up Davison’s option. I don’t mind if they decline it. Figured it would be picked up by now.

Just In: The Philadelphia 76ers will decline the $2.94 million team option on Lonnie Walker for the 2025-26 season, league sources told @hoopshypeofficial.bsky.social. The 26-year-old averaged 12.4 points in 23.9 minutes over 20 games played for the Sixers. He’s expected to draw free agency interest

The only way they can not do that and contend in the near future is if they get multiple starters or ways to acquire them in a Brown trade. I'm not talking about starters who are a stopgap like Vooch or someone they would let walk in FA. This talk of trading Simons for smaller salaried players isn't going to cut it without a larger plan in place. They cannot be stuck with just the Jays and White, not be willing to go into the 2nd apron, and expect to contend anytime soon.

Did you not get the memo on the new owners' cost cutting?

Of course, that's the whole purpose of my post, and why I think they absolutely need to move JB.

Phillys a good comparison to how the C’s season can go. Embiid was pretty much out the whole season which is what the C’s will deal with regarding JT. Maxey missed some time. No way to know for sure if JB gets a heavy workload. White will play his normal 65+ games. Philly had a non existent C position all season. They were the worst rebounding team in the league. 5th worst team in the league.

Chance at the top pick but got the 3rd.

AJ Dybantsa is a Brockton kid. At the time of the draft it would be 40 years since Bias passed. Maybe the moons align for the C’s.

We have to remember the Celtics already made a decision to get out of the 2nd apron. They could have kept Jrue and KP. They could have done the Jrue trade for flexibility and kept KP. In other words, they could have waited on KP's health, knowing they could be rid of both KP and Simons by the end of next year. So no, I don't see them going back into the 2nd apron unless it is for a deal they can't refuse.

My point exactly, so if you trade Simons for scraps, how do you build a contender around the Jays and White with no other high level assets? You can't.

So you go on to another plan.

So if Luke and Al aren't up for it and nobody bites on Simons, what about JB for Sabonis and several good firsts?

I would offer utah sam hauser, who has a cheap contract and a solid player, a first and two seconds..

Is danny Ainge really gonna get a much better offer than that? Maybe if he really likes Knect

Just a reminder for when Brad’s reading the board next that this team doesn’t have a PF this year and that Brandon Clarke was 24th in 2P/100 possessions, 13th in 2P%+ (guys over a 1000 minutes) and would have been 17th in TS% (if he’d played enough minutes to qualify).

Sabonis is not good. Teams get better when he leaves. Just a stat getter on bad teams. No thank you. Indy got rid of him because he crashed and burned in the playoffs

These big men options are so underwhelming.

I’d almost rather play

White
Simons/PP
Hauser
Brown
Niang

And try to outshoot teams rather than sign one of these retreads. Brown for Bam would be something I would really look into.

I like the Collins option because the value is basically a wash and they could resign him at less than he's making now in order to save money in the future. Of course he's a 4 who can play small ball 5.

I'm not even thinking about the time Tatum misses, that's just a waiting period.

Moving forward-

White/Pritch
Brown/Baylor
Tatum/Hugo
Collins/?
?

So you either find an affordable starting center using a couple of picks, or you trade Brown for a center and another player to replace his position.

It's important to replace Simons, if he's traded, with a starting caliber player.

At least there's a pathway to contention there while keeping the books intact.

Long term money wise Prichard shuld be a starter (only 7-8million for next 3 years) and Simmons money should go for C.

Walker Kessler could be one of better optins, but will comand at least 20+million.

Is he worth 2 1st rounders in a trade, imo he is.
