I like it. He showed some chops in limited minutes; he's a third point guard right now presuming Topic runs the bench but maybe they can play them together.

Great deal for OKC. We overpaid a bit for JWill but this one is great.

Hard to blame him for not turning down the money since he hasn’t been paid really yet, but think this is going to look like a huge bargain for a year or two..

He just had 1 year of salary so far so this get him some more money in the short terms . It’s basically like if he would have signed a rookie 4 year deal and become undrafted at the end of it.

A tad higher than that hypothetical deal but he’s more proven than a recently drafted rookie.

I get it that he really didn’t make a lot of money (the deal would’ve been prorated right?) and this salary takes care of his family for life.. it just seems like what he showed last year was enough to get a multi year vet min this season. And if he built on it at all this season, he’s getting 6-8 mil a year next offseason..

By year 3, I think he could be an MLE type making the vet min. Nice move for OKC.

Ajay takes away all the risk and gets to develop in the best situation in the league..

That’s assuming similar role and linear growth.

He probably left money on the table but for your first contract , just get that life changing money first . Develop some consistency and reputation and get paid later in life.
