Either of those teams would be an ideal fit for him. HOU or DEN would work for him also. They need someone that can shoot the ball

If I were Duncan, I would be GRATEFUL to the Heat for giving me such a big contract a few years ago. That was life-changing money and generational wealth

FWIW, Duncan's agent is also the agent of Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holliday, and Marcus Smart.

Crazy we never got a chance to trade that expiring we've been taking about since so soon he signed the original deal.

He's going to Cleveland with Bronny for Garland, Strus, and Allen. Brook Lopez and C Paul sign with Cleveland:

Lopez / Thompson
Mobley / Wade
LeBron / Hunter
Mitchell / Merill
Paul / Ball / Bronny

C'mon bruh, you've been around long enough: the rules don't apply to LeBron.

No no no. The only thing we need to give Duncan is a Derek Jeter gift basket and a Greyhound bus ticket to anywhere else in the US or Canada.

I used to know how the NBA cap rules worked but not anymore really, but I think you can sign and trade a player into another teams exceptions, MLE is 12.8. Also if we did that for Duncan Robinson do we get a traded player exemption for the same amount? I think we would have in the past, but I don't think you used to be able to do sign and trade with MLE. Because we are still over the cap but under the luxury, so would have our own MLE. Can't imagine we would retain both, seems like a loophole?

I understand some of the hate for Duncan on this board, but I think some of it is irrational and ignores what he brings, which is a level of shooting that is not very replicable when you consider some of the degree of difficulty shots he makes. The downsides are he's a negative defensively (but tries and can be hidden to a degree), his game outside shooting is mediocre (but still better than in the past when he couldn't drive/handle at all, he can at least do a tiny bit now) and he's paid too much for what he does.

For the right money, I'd be fine with bringing him back. At the same time, if this becomes a youth movement then he ought to go, because the main source of his value is only relevant on a good team that needs shooting.

Team definitely doesn't need him at the moment. But he is totally the kind of guy that can get hot for a game or two in the playoffs and win them for you all by his streak shooting, and if you aren't dependent on him, having that kind of surprise weapon is a nice asset. James Jones did it for us a couple times in the big 3 era, unfortunately it was mostly in 2011 so its kind of forgotten because we didn't win the chip that year. Also Jason Kapono probably could have if the team was still good in 06-07, he was en fuego that year. And I actually think Duncan is a (slightly) better all around player than Jones or Kapono.

Duncan has had one year with a positive OBPM. The year that got him this contract.

Good shooters are everywhere and on the cheap. I'd rather sign Kennard, trade for Grayson Allen, take Seth Curry on a minimum deal (Damon Jones 2.0), sign Gary Trent Jr, take a gamble on Malik Beasley...whatever.

Robinson has improved his game, but he is still a target for opposing teams and they attack him incessantly. And Robinson's "impact" on offense isn't what it used to be.

Yeah, nah…fair to say I’m DONE-can.

Ready for a change. He was a great find and a terrific story, but a change of scenery is needed for both parties.

Looks like we’ll use out on Cam too but not shocking. LeBron and likely 1 other star are on the way to team up with Bam Spo and Davion so can’t complain
