Sources say that the Orlando Magic are among the teams to express interest in Tyus Jones, who played alongside new Magic marquee acquisition Desmond Bane for three seasons in Memphis. Bane posted on Twitter in April 2024 that "doors [are] always open" for a reunification with Jones.

I love Richardson! Excellent pick! But this is where the expectations get really out of wack for these young players. Even as a backup guard you can’t expect a 19 year old to be ready for a playoff run. There just not prepared to play that many games and the speed of the game. You get Tyus and bring Richardson on slowly.
Exactly. you bring in a capable player.... but not someone that puts a wall in the way if your goal is for Richardson to fill that role.
Plus... we have to be fluid.... richardson is our pick.... and if your goal is to have him fill a particular role, then you don't bring a player in that you are signing a large deal to.
With bane and suggs.... playing 30 min a night.... staggering them even with black.... there is probably not going to be as much of a need for a high level back up... if AB is your guy. BUT.... yup.... we do need the facilitating option.... and I'm down for that being one of the Jones brothers... and especially a #breakincaseofemergencyoption
