Was discussing it in the other thread, new FA target: Quentin Grimes. He's looking for $25 mill AAV. On Philly and they got the rookie Jared McCain, plus Maxey, George, and Embid have big contracts. they may not want to pay Grimes, and Kuminga might steal the last big money out there.

Two ways: 1 We have a $17.5 mill exception. I'd throw the whole thing at Grimes if he doesn't get what he wants.
Second way: Like MG said, swap Coby and take back signed Grimes at $25 AAV or less. Or maybe Ayo/Collins or Ayo/Williams for Grimes/filler.

Going to be a lot of mad free agents next week when all the money is gone. That $17.5 mill exception is going to be gold if we have the roster spot.

Ayton agreeing on a buyout from POR. Makes sense with Clingan there and the fact they just drafted Wang. Must have really been no takers on the trade market.

It's crazy how many centers are hitting the market and moving around this summer. Not a great time to be trading a center. Nurkic, Porzingas, Mark Williams, Reid just re-signed and we just hit the first day of free agency. Lopez and Turner free agents, two three point shooting centers.

Which I’m here for because you can’t really mess up top 5 next seasons draft. Franchise guards wings and Cs.

You can never assume an AK led team is tanking.

Let's just compile an entire team of SF/PFs. No guards, no centers, just madness.

Good thought. I would say that if we were going for Kuminga, we'd need to trade Coby. That said, I thought we'd get more for Coby and be able to unload Vuc for Kuminga.

How would people feel if it was Coby for Kuminga straight-up (since we know that AK is Mr. Straight-up trader).

I would projectile vomit.

Is there any evidence AK is actually that interested in Kuminga at all? All these rumors, he did just draft Essengue. Kuminga and essengue would definitely play in the same spaces. Even if he was interested in Kuminga before, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. There's no way he trades Coby straight up for Kuminga. Coby's his last trade piece. I think Kuminga ends up in Miami.

If Ayton is being bought out the market for Vuc is probably nonexistent. I can't see the Bulls buying him out and hard to imagine anyone taking on that contract.

???

Ayton can't stretch the floor, isn't good defensively, inconsistent, low b-ball IQ, and isn't even that young anymore.

Vuc is a way better player than him.

As much as I want to see is shake things up and dont love where Coby’s salary is headed, man I’ll be bummed if hes moved. He was legit awesome this past season. Really took it to another level post Zach. Hes a very good, homegrown player, who has repped this franchise well. The best is yet to come for Coby. If we move him, better be a haul in return.

Maybe. But Ayton is probably a mid level player now and doesn't cost you an asset. Vuc is older and have you to send out an asset to get him.

Yes there's easily an avenue to us being right up there with the tankers! Especially if Giddey reverts back to pre-ASB Giddey.

We seen this strong ending before with the 3 Cs, only for them to go back to bring ass the next season and landing is the #3 pick

Nurkic just got traded and he's way worse than Vuc. His expiring contract should still hold some value. I bet he gets moved.

I was hoping AK would trade Collins for Sexton. There's probably a similar deal available for Marcus Smart.

I don't do "instragram stories" or tweets or anything like that, so I don't really know what that means. Is it just like a picture of him dapping fans on the final home game of the year, and people are interpreting that to mean he expects to be dealt? I.e., utterly meaningless? I'm 51 years old and make minimal effort to keep up with these trends.
