Charlotte Hornets

If Indy wasn't hell bent on re-signing Myles Turner perfect for them (he did sign an offer sheet with them before Phoenix matched)

Hope you said this with a straight face lol

Can you put together a logical reason for the Lakers being the clear frontrunner, or is it just half baked conspiracy theory revolving around you being triggered by LeBron James?

I said it in jest because I figured people would be melting down and assuming that. Like you said, why is it a given he will go there? Further, the Lakers need a center that will play defense. That ain't Ayton. I suppose if he really commits so he can swindle a team into one more big contract. I don't think the guy is that passionate about the game.

his game does fits next to Luka.

Terms of the buyout public? If the Blazers saved $12+ million off what they owed him this could make some sense for them..... if they save like $3-4 million this seems incredibly stupid on their part even if he wanted a bigger role elsewhere they should have kept his expiring contract until the deadline.

It’s low effort trolling with these NBA conspiracy theories.

My guess is either the lakers or Cleveland. Cleveland needs a backup big badly behind Allen and Mobley. The Lakers just need a big.

Because the lakers have no leverage and have been having a hard time making a deal for a Center. Teams are taking advantage.

Then you have Finny-Smith opting out and we all know the lakers needed to keep as many defenders as they could or get a Center.

Then you have this out the blue.

It all lines up.

The sad part is I think people are serious. They think Klutch and/or the NBA are rigging the league in every scenario for LeBron. People legitimately believe this stupid stuff lmao.

Its clear the Lakers need a Center desperately but don't have too many assets to get it done. They are a good Center and a good 3 and D guard away from being a true championship contender.

It also makes a lot of sense for Ayton to go there to up his value in meaningful games again. People are just connecting the dots...

The league thinks it's good. Makes the Lakers better, Blazers are happy they saved money (he must've given up some to get this done).

It's definitely subverting the rules, though. Otherwise there wouldn't be salary matching on trades.

Since when is it against the rules for a team to buyout a player's contract?

Not overtly against, hence the word subverting. I realize buyouts are legal. This is a case, howvever, where the player agres to a buyout because they want to go elsewhere and their desired team cannot trade for them.

Do we even know what Ayton's desired team is?

As of right now, there's no evidence of anyone subverting the rules.

Ayton was born to play on the Lakers and take 20 minutes of talk show space every single day.

It’s so perfect.

What's the most they can give him this off-season?

I wanted him but after reading the thread, i forgot Cavs aren't eligible to sign him as an apron team.

Hornets just traded their C a few hours ago. Hornets have reportedly made several attempts to trade for Ayton over the years. How does this not line up even better for them?

Cavs can't. Getting Ayton hard caps the team in the first apron at 196M.

The blazers are such a trash organization. They trade young expiring Simmons for cooked Jrue with 3 more years and add picks, but then cut costs by cutting a guy for nothing they could have traded.
