I get it… you are talking about ‘making sense’ ???
6 SGs, 0 PGs, 1 SF, 1 PF, 3 Cs, and an Oso makes sense?
Your optimism is going to be put to test

Well, that's what we have, these are the cards that we have to play now. Obviously every move FROM NOW has to make more sense, that's why I was saying that D. Russell makes no sense.
For example...John Collins? Tough get, but yeah, he makes sense in our roster for a couple of our SG/SFs.
The roster isn't finalized at all.

Every move we have made since May HAD to make sense…. and it hasn’t.
This is still a dysfunctional roster, may be more so.
I applaud two moves…. Fleming and Williams. The rest is up in the air.
This team is ripe to implode. It’s still headless

Please, don’t display that roster anymore.
How these F-ers have been shttting the bed at the PG slot is criminal. And Wishbia was once one. I would endorse having CP if we had drafted a youngster pg like Tourae or ? … but it’s a waste otherwise.
DLo is looming and at this point could be welcomed.

He was probably there just because he was a rich boy. The time of giving him credit for "knowing basketball" is long gone.

Probably…. And very unlike this guy…..
Colangelo was born and raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to an Italian-American working class family.[5] He played basketball and baseball for Bloom Township High School. Colangelo enrolled at the University of Kansas, but transferred to the University of Illinois after prospective teammate Wilt Chamberlain left. He played basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini, earned All-Big Ten honors, and captained the Illini as a senior. He was later inducted into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame. Colangelo also played two years of baseball at Illinois.[6]

I was looking at the Hornets forum. They don't seem to want him and prefer Da'ron Sharpe.
Ayton on the Lakers might be hilarious. Especially if James isn't traded.

What do you think about his son Bryan being named a GM and being terrible at that job for a few years?

Player-wise I don't think it's all that bad.
Guys like Brooks and Williams could be dealt later for assets if needed. We need to walk the line of competing and bringing guys in who are attractive to other teams down the line. And we've added enough youth to try to develop.
Even Maluach could be moved eventually if Williams exceeds expectations.
And for people upset with the KD return, I'm not sure any GM was going to get more back for him. Maybe something minor here or there but Ishbia and Jones put the team in this situation, so you just deal with what is in front of you.

Supposedly, there were deals available but POR wanted expiring contracts and couldn’t get them. DA went to POR for a buyout, not vice versa.
All rumors of course.

D. Russell will not sign for the minimum.
And he is more of a scorer G than a "PG". With so many scoring Gs already on the roster Russell makes no sense at all.
At least Gillespie is a solid defender and low usage pure PG. He fits on a roster with Jalen Green and Booker.
The PG issue is a concern but I think the FO's thinking is they don't want another small ball lineup so they are AGAIN thinking of either point Book or a point Beal/Green and trying to make it work that way.
Too many holes to plug and the only spot we are deep at are SG and C so it's still a very flawed roster for sure.

Worse yet was running the Suns into so much finacial trouble that f-ing sarver bought the team.
This roster still needs some balancing but they were in a pretty bad spot coming into this summer so I'll give a hat tip to progress because I liked the draft.

Welp, let the LeBron to Phx rumors begin. Rich Paul’s statement basically said LeBron is ready to move on from the Lakers without directly coming out and saying that.
Ishbia’s is licking his lips right now. Also was listening to the radio about this and some insiders basically said no team is willing to give up assets for LeBron at this point. Lebrons value is even less than we got from KD. Everyone going to say Lebron for Beal. LeBron and Beal are the only two players with no trade clauses. But yeah.
"LeBron wants to compete for a championship," Paul said to ESPN. "He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all. We are very appreciative of the partnership that we've had for eight years with Jeanie [Buss] and Rob [Pelinka] and consider the Lakers as a critical part of his career.
"We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what's best for him."

Lebron isn't coming to Phoenix, he wants to try and win lol.
I'm guessing he tries to go east, the conference decimated by injury. Does Cleveland have enough contacts they don't want to make something work?

I'd think that Lebron would be more likely to go back to Cleveland than come here to Phoenix. That way he can try to coast his way into the finals for a chance at another championship. And of course Cleveland would bail the flakers out by trading them a package of Garland and Allen in exchange for Le' fraud.
Which is honestly fine with me, as I'd want him no where near this team.

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 3
*I come in peace*
Was a big fan of your guys draft, was hoping Orlando took Fleming w/ #25. Perfect upside play for Phoenix.
I was browsing your guys board for some more intel on Tyus as it seems more and more likely that Orlando will be signing him come 6PM to lead their bench unit but couldn’t find much.
Was just wondering if you guys can briefly describe the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to Jones through your lens. I know he had a rough season, but not sure if that was mainly due to team construction or he regressed personally.
Any thoughts would be immensely appreciated!

I want nothing to go with LeBron. At this point of his career he only plays one side of the court. I watched him play this last year. He literally had no effect on the game other than to add to his personal stats. Once you get close to 40 in the NBA your body doesn’t have it in it to play every aspect of the court. Many players could have played as long as LeBron but they knew it would be nothing more than stats. And that’s all LeBron is at this point.
