Can't imagine Ayton views his best situation here especially after Bobby re-signing. He'll go where he can have the biggest role/guaranteed starting job and put up numbers for his next contract.

The last place Ayton should want to go in his situation is LAL. As a lazy and unmotivated type of player, you want to “anchor” a defense that has 3 of the worst defenders imaginable in front of you? Luka LeBron and Reaves are traffic cones, Ayton can be too, how’s that gonna work? AD was a scapegoat, Westbrook was a scapegoat, Ayton wants to be next? Bad decision imo. I’d take a cheap prove it deal flier and see how he can fit here, why not?

Dame and Tyler Smith for Cam Thomas and Nic Claxton works.

Giannis
Kpj
Claxton
Thomas
Rollins
Trent
Sims
Bobby
Green

Seems pretty solid in a weak east.
The Dame experiment hasn't worked yet, and coming off of a torn achilles. Nets are in a tank/rebuild year.

This would be amazing for the Bucks but don't see why the Nets would do this?

None of that matters for a next contract. What matters is getting spoonfed easy buckets from a guy like Luka. See CP3 Harden etc ability to get Centers PAID

Us getting Ayton would be about the worst possible offseason move i could think of. Low bbiq player whose only motivation is his next contract. Horrible fit as well. I'd rather have Kornet or just Sims.

Wonder if they'll stretch Pat or do some type of Pat for Javon Carter type deal to save a few million.

We are without a doubt paying the tax. The new rules state you have to be out of the tax for 2 years to avoid the repeater tax, and that isn't happening. We can use our TPE or take back more money in trade.

In Nehm peice today. Per league sources bucks would like to avoid the luxury tax this year.

But remember per this poster. Without a doubt we are paying the tax and Bobby is a plus defender. Amazing

I can't remember if this dude is a good source or not, but he also has a couple interesting tidbits I hadn't seen before (sorry if they've already been discussed on here):

Sean Wright has zero credibility or sources. He throws a bunch of stuff out there and when something turns out to be right he crows about it and when it's wrong, nothing. There is random stuff posted here that is more accurate.

Now that Bobby is locked in and we've seen what else has happened around the league whats the optimal path forward?

Here's my dream scenario:

1) GTJ signs for $9-10m
2) KPJ takes whats left of the MLE - in the $5m range. Thats pretty close to what it sounds like DLo is going to get in Dallas so seems like a fair deal
3) Resign Rollins, Sims and extend Green
4) Ayton on the BAE
5) Find a way to move Kuzma and/or Pat to get a starting 3

KPJ / Rolllins / Dame
GTJ / Green / Vet min
??? / Vet min
Giannis / Bobby / Smith
Ayton / Sims

This would be a really solid roster in a weak East. Being able to move Bobby back to the back up big makes a huge difference. We'd have a ton flexibility to trot out different lineup combinations between Giannis, Bobby, and Ayton. Green can also play 3 so we have some depth there as well.

That’s a weird thing to make up tho right? I’d imagine there’s some truth to it, the Haslams aren’t exactly the most professional family. They’ve been sued in the past and threw their company president and board members under the bus. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Haslam has his hands all over someone like Doc Rivers and wants more control of the franchise. He’s still the same guy that gave Deshaun Watson a market setting QB contract AFTER the sexual misconduct allegations became a huge thing.

I had hopes at 1st that this was just a quick stop in Milwaukee like his days in Pittsburgh before he bought the Browns. Unfortunately he’s already stayed in Milwaukee longer than he did Pittsburgh and the franchise hasn’t really been the same since he arrived. He’s likely here for the long haul and it could only be a matter of time before he buys out Edens when Wes is fed up with the power struggle. That makes a lot of sense to me, conspiracy or not.

This isn’t a good sign for the future imo. I’ve been against Haslam since day 1, he’s a franchise ruiner.

Saying that 2 billionaires don't see eye to eye on everything is hardly "news". Edens has the final say on every move made. Haslam runs the Browns 100% and he owns and runs the Crew (2 championships).

And it's interesting that Wright is the only one "reporting this". He has zero sources. His post about Trent signing a deal here may turn out to be correct but there is no source giving Wright inside info.

Sean Wright is a hack/not a real person but I thought it was pretty common knowledge that the only reason Doc is still here is because of Haslam.

Would you prioritize Dayron Sharpe over Sims? Sharpe can catch a rebound & has theoretical shooting. Might be able to sell him on playing next to Giannis in a cheap prove it deal like Bobby got originally.

I don't think we need another big splurge outside of Bobby & Sims/Sharpe. We have larger needs. The 3rd center can be 2-way Pete Nance, who hopefully continues to fill out. He can shoot, hustles. Then Giannis at the 5, w/ Kuz at the 4. Also got Smith, maybe Bogo. Lotta bigs.
