Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 3
first off thanks for the info. He’s a “safe” PG. he won’t make mistakes. But he won’t affect the game positive or negative either. Sometimes forgot he was even on the court. He’s a good guy. Won’t cause problems. Kinda a quiet guy. Not a vocal leader. I’d say he’s best used as a back-up PG on a good team. Best way to describe him is “blah”. Not negative, no positive, just blah.Magic_Johnny12 wrote:*I come in peace*
Was a big fan of your guys draft, was hoping Orlando took Fleming w/ #25. Perfect upside play for Phoenix.
I was browsing your guys board for some more intel on Tyus as it seems more and more likely that Orlando will be signing him come 6PM to lead their bench unit but couldn’t find much.
Was just wondering if you guys can briefly describe the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to Jones through your lens. I know he had a rough season, but not sure if that was mainly due to team construction or he regressed personally.
Any thoughts would be immensely appreciated!
Again this is only our experience with him on a team with KD, Booker and Beal. He had to take a major backseat to the stars. So keep that in mind.

Please, don’t display that roster anymore.
How these F-ers have been shttting the bed at the PG slot is criminal. And Wishbia was once one. I would endorse having CP if we had drafted a youngster pg like Tourae or ? … but it’s a waste otherwise.
DLo is looming and at this point could be welcomed.
D. Russell will not sign for the minimum.
And he is more of a scorer G than a "PG". With so many scoring Gs already on the roster Russell makes no sense at all.
At least Gillespie is a solid defender and low usage pure PG. He fits on a roster with Jalen Green and Booker.
The PG issue is a concern but I think the FO's thinking is they don't want another small ball lineup so they are AGAIN thinking of either point Book or a point Beal/Green and trying to make it work that way.
Too many holes to plug and the only spot we are deep at are SG and C so it's still a very flawed roster for sure.
The roster is the roster. There was a lot of work to be done and it was never going to be fixed. I think the key for me is how they handle Beal.
I just hope Ishbia doesn't make a move with Beal about this year
Think longer term

I actually think it would be hilarious if Suns traded for Lebron, signed CP3. The Suns would have the most hated lineup in NBA history.
CP3 / Booker / Brooks / Lebron / Williams
But yeah... I don't think there is any team that would realistically want a 40-something year old player.

Ishbia’s is licking his lips right now. Also was listening to the radio about this and some insiders basically said no team is willing to give up assets for LeBron at this point. Lebrons value is even less than we got from KD. Everyone going to say Lebron for Beal. LeBron and Beal are the only two players with no trade clauses. But yeah.
Not one **** in his right mind thinks LeBron leaves LA for Phoenix..... FOR A BETTER CHANCE AT A CHAMPIONSHIP!!! You said you were smarter than everybody here!!!!

I'm guessing he tries to go east, the conference decimated by injury. Does Cleveland have enough contacts they don't want to make something work?
As soon as that statement hit the airwaves, fire alarms started sounding at Golden States arena, Steph's house, and their owners house.

I said Ishbia is licking him lips. Ishbia is a dumbass who would try to get Lebrick. I guarantee it came into Ishbia’s head for at least a minute.

You guys need to Trade for Grayson Allen too. They are best buds, you get one and the other should follow.

Richards available probably signals a willingness to be more flexible in our center rotation, running lineups with Oso/Malauch at center instead of sticking with a traditional big for 48 minutes.
Good sign especially if you're a Oso or Malauch believer or just want the young players to play.

Michael Scotto:
One thing that Gambo said last week is that the Suns didn't want Whitmore. Scotto confirms it now.
Gambo specifically said that a source that knows him said that "he is a bad guy".
It’s worth noting Whitmore was nearly traded to the Phoenix Suns in the Kevin Durant trade, league sources told HoopsHype. Instead, Phoenix opted for more future second-round draft pick compensation, HoopsHype has learned.

There’s a big group of us that really like Grayson and would welcome him with open arms, however the only realistic trade is swapping Isaac for Allen and not sure our FO has the stomach for that….yet.

Ive never been a whitmore fan. Don't really know what to think of Whitmore vs a few seconds.
Maybe he is not much of a team player. Not a great defender either.
But I know some people here liked him a lot. Tbh I probably value him more than some seconds but if there is something like a GM rough consensus in the NBA I think they are generally more correct than us fans more often.

Beal for LeBron. Get it done
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Welcome to the madhouse that is our team forum.

Tyus Jones is a pretty solid but low usage PG. He's a good ball control guard and doesn't take too many risks with the ball, hence his low turnover rate. Decent three point shooter. Not a great defender but quick enough to stay in front of his man.
I would probably say he's better suited to being the lead guard coming off the bench but as a starter... I'm less impressed. We thought he was going to really show us something and that we'd be really reliant on his ability but what we were shown was that his reliability wasn't all that and he was benched in favor of a harder playing rookie.
It could be a situational kind of thing and maybe he just wasn't the fit we needed; then again, Budenholzer really didn't seem to let him do his job in running the offense and despite his ability, seemingly favored Booker and Beal to be the primary ball handler. We paid for it when that happened, so it's hard to say if that's more of a tell on Jones or Budenholzer.
