Roster moves this month (besides the draft)
The draft is tomorrow and while there doesn't seem to be much chatter about the Jazz picking at #5, there appear to be several teams (Wizards at #6, Pelicans at #7, and Nets at #8) interested in trading up to #4 Hornets spot to take advantage of the 76ers passing on Ace Bailey or to grab Jeremiah Fears.
But aside from that, these minor roster move deadlines are also looming:
6/26 - John Collins player option - Opted in 6/25
6/29 - Micah Potter $2,048,494 Declined QO extension to become RFA
6/29 - Oscar Tshiebwe $2,048,494 QO extension to become two-way RFA
6/30 - Johnny Juzang 2025-26 guarantee ($2,840,518) Jazz waived Juzang 6/30
6/30 - Svi Mykhailiuk 2025-26 guarantee ($3,675,000) Guaranteed deal 6/30
7/1 - Walker Kessler becomes extension eligible
7/25 - Jaden Springer 2025-26 partial guarantee ($400K)

Re: Roster moves this month (besides the draft)
I expect the Jazz to make a lot of roster changes this offseason but it all starts with the draft. Maybe they'll move some pieces even then, but it's a bit too early to tell. I think Kessler is the safest bet to remain with the team from the list, but even that isn't a sure thing because Ainge is cold blooded.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Ace Bailey’s camp has made it known that they do not want him to be drafted by the Hornets or the Jazz, per

I don't think Bailey's representation is doing a good job (though I can understand not wanting to go to the Hornets due to fit\Miller).

Per Andy Larsen, Micah Potter is not eligible for a two-way RFA offer so is not likely to be retained with the roster spot crunch.

The Jazz are waiving Johnny Juzang to free up a roster space.

I don't get it. He seems worth $2.8M/year. Positive Value.
Frees up more minutes for Ace Bailey, but still, if you're trying to win? Oh, maybe your not?

Re: Roster moves this month (besides the draft)
The 15 roster spots were all filled with the players they have under contract so there was no room to sign Ace Bailey or the other draft picks unless they clear some spots. Juzang's spot was not guaranteed if he was waived today. More spots need to open up for other draft picks too whether through trade or waiver. Mykhailiuk is the next one on the block for today. His $3.7 mill becomes guaranteed if still on the team after today.

Win? What is this foreign concept you speak of?

Re: Roster moves this month (besides the draft)
Jazz have 9 young players, not including Walker, that they want to give minutes to this year. They're clearing the decks for the kids to play, since developing and evaluating those guys are the immediate priority.....along with bottom-fishing for a top-5 pick in next year's draft.

Why not buy out Ante Tomic and make him the oldest NBA rookie of all time. Then Disney can make a feel good movie. Maybe with Dennis Quaid's son on stilts.

I like my prospects the same way I like my women... foreign- pickIBL
