Windhorst says the Pacers are considering dumping Mathurin as a cost-saving move, which I've long suspected. I would be very much interested if that's the case.

I love players that get to the line so Mathurin would make me happy.

Houston Rockets swingman Cam Whitmore has drawn trade interest from the Chicago Bulls (before the Isaac Okoro acquisition) and Denver Nuggets, among others, league sources told HoopsHype.

It’s worth noting Whitmore was nearly traded to the Phoenix Suns in the Kevin Durant trade, league sources told HoopsHype. Instead, Phoenix opted for more future second-round draft pick compensation, HoopsHype has learned.

Whitmore, who turns 21 in July, has averaged 10.8 points in 17.4 minutes per game in two seasons for the Rockets.

Hopefully Okoro doesn't mean we're out on Whitmore.

ayo for whitmore would be a worthwhile gamble imo

pair that with a tre jones re-signing and it would bring a better balance to our bench; let whitmore fill that bench gunner role

You can get Cam for a 2nd.

Why would HOU trade him for that when they need a SG?

Most likely because he’s a head case.

What makes you think he’s available for a 2nd?

Multiple reports. Above repent HOU chose 2nds over him. I know all they are SGs but Cam can play SF.

Probably two 2nds.

i mean, do you think ayo draws more than a few second rounders in a trade for draft compensation? i would be fine to just give up the picks since we don't value them anyway, but i don't think ayo would be an overpay

Interesting. Unless he’s has unreasonable demands about playing time, I like him at that price for sure.

Would love to add him to the end of the bench, showed some flashes in game 82 last year.

I would rather have Whitemore than Okoro.

Trading a surplus of guards for underutilized talent wanting to prove them self might be a good model after all.

I just saw a rumor (via YouTube) about a Vuc for Simons trade with Boston. Simons is expiring this season, but makes 6 million more than Vuc, so would probably need to add salary - but not too much since the goal apparently for Boston is to get under the 1 st Apron. Julian Phillips would likely make the most sense if needed. Not sure if Celtics are too constrained to do this, but it would be an interesting and low risk way to hedge on Coby and get a better sense of his substitution value.

I'd be A-ok with Whitmore if it comes cheap and i'd take a flyer on Bates for a deep bench role, he is better than Terrry/Phillips/Carter. Bates was once the top prospect in his class, i'm sure there is some potential still in there

Both guys 20/21 would be nice to have on the bench. An experimental forward rotation of Matas/Essengue/Whitmore/Bates to see who can attach them to the future core would be a nice start to watch

This team doesn't have many scoring options as it's is keep Huerter, maybe even extend him reasonably.

I'd be on board. Obviously, you had me at "Vuc trade", but love the idea of Coby insurance. Simons (or Coby) could give us some much needed bench scoring. I bet Phillips would thrive in BOS. It would also give us the roster depth to trade Coby if there was an attractive deal for him out there.
