If that's true, its definitely not understandably lol

Yeah as a Certified Lakers Hater(tm) I'm thrilled that they're letting DFS walk to throw a bag at Ayton. Dude is not a good basketball player.

Our beat guy for the athletic seems to think they are looking to split the MLE between Lopez and Capela.

That would make me very sad lol. I'm hoping we can finagle a way to land Lopez, he's a perfect C for this team.

Sure but DFS + Capela (or Lopez, or even Hayes) >>> Ayton

You just don't let guys like DFS go for washed players like Lopez and Capela, or underacheivers like Ayton, I hope reports are false or Luka demand a trade...

I don't understand what LeBron thinks he is doing with that statement.

In-N-Out 247 wrote:The whole waiting for the new league year to negotiate contracts with players from other teams is such a joke. Hopefully the NBA will just drop the farce and just say that free agents can start talking to other teams once the finals are over.

How in the heck do we already know that (saw this pop up on Bleacher Report) "D'Angelo Russell, Mavs reportedly expected to land 2-Year, $12M contract"

The numbers are known because of Dallas’s financial situation. The 2/12 is essentially the largest offer they can make using their taxpayer MLE. And there’s a lot of plausible deniability when it’s easy to see that, their need for a temporary starting Pg for a year while Kyrie recovers, and simply ask DAR if he’d be interested. And Dallas can soft leak they’re interested. Essentially, they can negotiate in public without breaking rules or anything.

Though, I have no doubt that Dallas spoke directly to his agent and just coached it in the most legal-ese possible.

I’m not even sure I understand where the minutes are for him in Houston. They have Eason, Amen, Whitmore, Durant, Smith Jr and Sheppard for those wing spots.

I think everyone just watched OKC play 2 bigs and a bunch of guards. DFS' ability to guard multiple positions and make corner 3's means it doesn't matter what the roster looks like, he plays anywhere he goes.

So DFS is back up 3?

He Tari and Jabari will all compete for the last starting spot, nothing is promised for anyone. He may be the best fit to start with his shooting

As an outsider this is what it looks like to me:

Starters: FVV, Amen, KD, JSJ/Eason, Sengun

Key reserves: Sheppard (G), DFS (W/F), Eason/JSJ (F), Adams (C)

Deep bench: Green, Holiday, Landale, Tate

Definitely a little light in the back court but if Sheppard makes the leap Houston is expecting him to they ought to be OK considering FVV and Amen will both play big minutes and KD can play a little point forward if needed.

I thought Sengun - Durant - Eason - Amen - FVV was settled and they invested in Smith Jr now plus play two big line ups with Adams. So I guess they’re looking for a more reliable vet in there.

If I had to guess, based on the contract Jabari just got + being a better shooter, he starts.
Forwards all feel interchangeable.
Sengun/Adams
Durant/DFS
Jabari/Eason
Amen/Sheppard
FVV/Holiday

Leaves whitmore as the odd man out, I'd think he gets moved in the next couple weeks for some 2nds.

I think NAW's market is going to catch some people off guard. Like honestly, an AAV approaching $30 million would not shock me. Under $20 million would shock me though.

Maybe Lakers told LeBron about their plan to let DFS go and that's why he opted on a requested to be traded to a team looking to contend?

Don't know what Lakers are planning but Robs plans always end up poor. Even gifts he gets eventually works out how to lose them.
