The Lakers could offer more and he still went back to Brooklyn

So what. Maybe Lakers didn't want him. I'm talking about Raps.

So what. Maybe Raptors didn't want him.

Your arguments are tiring.

Also worth noting - right now, they don't even have room under the apron to sign a minimum salary guy. Not sure they want to be over the apron and activate the various limitations there. Heck if they want to offer a 3 year minimum to Martin, for example, they'd be using the MLE to do so and would be hard capped below the apron.

We're in the tax. Will definitely make a move at some point here with real salary going out.

Assuming the two NG's are waived and we sign Martin to his minimum, we are currently (just) under the tax.

If they want to address the C position, even by adding a single minimum salary player, then yes, they will need to go into the tax. If they wanted to add a C and not go into the tax, then they either need to trade for said C (and not take on excess salary in the deal) or need to make another trade to free up enough wiggle room to sign one.

Doesn't that put us at 13 active players on the roster (including Martin and CMB)? You have to have 14 players minimum, so we're effectively in the tax once you slot a minimum in that spot.

Could be. But if we do that, we're over the tax. Rookie minimum (for a draft pick) is about 1M less than the vet minimum.

Too early to worry about the roster at this time.

They don't need to be below the tax line until the trade deadline.

Lot's of time to make a deal (even a small one like trading Ochai).

Unless we make a cap clearing move, there will be crickets from us until the true dregs are being scraped from the bottom of free agency. The kind that is willing to sit on a none-guaranteed going into the season and gets waived a month or two in.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….
