The Nets retaining both Sharpe and Zaire Williams on 1+1TO $12mil (total) deals is a steal.

I like DFS, but we really need a Center. If we sign Ayton, even not being the best fit, Im good. The guy will grab rebounds and score easy baskets, and can stay in court vs WC Centers.

We still have Vincent, Kleber salaries and 2031 first to try grab another 3-D player.

Everyone's talking about the Lakers "letting DFS go", but it could easily be that he opted out because he wanted to go elsewhere. It wasn't a team option, right? And he's not a RFA.

The Rockets spending their money on DFS instead of guard help is such a Maisi move. I mean literally they're going to have FVV and half dozen forwards who are good, but pretty redundant.

Yeah it's a bad move by Rockets. They have poor creation ability. They need to maximize the time they have Durant. Get some more playmakers on the team or at least an impact player.

Durant can create, but he's not going to force a rotation. He's not going to bring the ball up against the press. Also, what happens if FVV sprains an ankle? This reads like playing Amen in the backcourt but not having a safety net if it doesn't work.

Not as sure about Zaire but Sharpe for $6M/yr with a TO is a great deal. I saw the $12M and thought that was per year money.

I started this I think. And I already acknowledged that I understand what unrestricted free agency means. :D

My point was the reports are saying he is signing for less than the MLE. I'd be pretty surprised if DFS left LA and Luka if they used Bird Rights to pay him more than the MLE.

It doesn't sound like LA might lose him because he prefers Houston but because LA isn't willing to give him $$ and years. And I think that's a dumb decision if true.

That feels like a major reach. He's pretty limited on offense and nobody can offer over MLE money anyways (Minny isn't taking back a bunch of salary in a S&T).

Agree, that's why I'm struggling to understand the reporting. Rockets would know that their main need is a guard. Seems more like pressure to up the Lakers offer but we will see...

It'll be interesting to see who the first player to sign with another team at 6:01PM will be - from the sounds of it it'll be DLO to the Mavs.

With all the players resigning with their original teams this is going to be a fairly quiet free agency period.

Found this list from CBS Sports - they have the top 10 free agents as:

Myles Turner
Kuminga (R)
Giddey (R)
NAW
Ayton
DFS
Beasley
Ty Jerome
Brook Lopez
Al Horford

Wow - if that is true then that's pretty messed up. No wonder he is looking to leave

Agreed on Shape for sure, did Ziaire do anything in Brooklyn? I've always got a soft spot for Stanford guys and was hoping he'd figure it out.

I don't believe that report on Pelinka. Even Niko isn't that stupid.

Also note, he doesn't count 3.6 million against the gap.

DLO and Clarkson reuniting in Dallas is exactly what I hoped for..
