Teams can't begin negotiating until 5:00 p.m. CDT and yet we'll see deals quickly announced. No funny business
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Ingles is far better than thanasis.

Wow...

Maybe he wanted him to decline and purposely got caught. 4D chess, art of the deal.

Not really. He used to be but he's completely washed. Played only 19 games last season. Turns 38 before the season starts. Towel waver.

Per Stein

The Bucks are actively working to trade Pat Connaughton and are said to have a couple potential avenues to a deal.

Alright so...

Pat is an expiring, but if we are bringing back less salary to free up room, what does that cost us?

And for what reason would we do this?

I think we are trying to stay under the tax.

Or someone of lateral value (different position) but with more years left?

We certainly can't pay him. Kuminga seems like a Pelinka target, though. Maybe that's the move.

So ESPN isn't putting on NBA today at 5 PM?

But Thanasis is more important.

Ideally, you could attach an asset, and that plus the extra years could get you a big upgrade. But it'd have to be a pretty big upgrade to get me to spend our last dime.

Yeah, what are our assets currently? The 31 first and Markovic? If someone wants Tyler Smith they can have him.

The '31 or '32 first and a swap on the other one is pretty much it. I guess there could be some eye-of-the-beholder value on some of our young players, but I'm not counting that.

Can't think of many dumber, short-sighted moves we could make this offseason than prioritizing any more salary dumps just to get below the tax completely. If you can't aggregate Pat into a larger trade then just take your medicine now and let the contract expire in 12-months.

The Lakers are bracing to lose forward Dorian Finney-Smith in free agency to a multi-year deal with the Houston Rockets, according to team sources. The loss of a valuable wing — and a beloved teammate of Dončić’s — will create a void on the perimeter. However, Finney-Smith’s exit will open up a pathway for the Lakers to be aggressive in targeting the top available centers in free agency.

Armed with the $14.1 million mid-level exception, the Lakers are expected to chase Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez and the Atlanta Hawks’ Clint Capela, with the surprise addition of Portland Trail Blazers center Deandre Ayton as another target on their list.

The Lakers are not making calls gauging Austin Reaves’ trade value, one of the sources said.

Stein had a very similar report. Also have not seen Brook seriously linked to anyone besides LAL the last few weeks.

If Golden State picks up Horford that’d take them out of the Brook sweepstakes too.

Marc Stein: Al Horford is a top target for Golden State, league sources tell @JakeLFischer and me.
