With that said, I wouldn't mind Westbrook coming off the bench if he's cheap. Probably better than most other vet min guys we can barely afford.

Aller leaked it lol

Things leak

Our interest in Diawara leaked and then we drafted him

It doesn't have to be Leon or anyone on the Knicks side that leaks things

Sometimes it's agents or other teams that the Knicks talk to

That's one way to put it.

You’re 100% right but I think there’s genuine interest on our half. Russ checks a lot of boxes of stuff we need.

We lost a lot of toughest when Ihart and we traded Randle and Donte. He brings that. We’re in need of another ball handler and it’s a major bonus if they’re big enough to play next Brunson. That can give Jalen some possession off ball. He can do this. Adds another good rebounder that can help push on the break. Also could see us being talked into the idea that he’d be an 8th or 9th man here that there be less chance of him shooting you out of games.

Now this isn’t an endorsement but I think it’s real.

Can’t play him and hart together so…..

This is finally going to be the summer that both of them learn to shoot 3’s  trust me I don’t like it but if our options are Clarkson or Russ, I might lean Russ

I would prefer Tre Mann as well...but he might have more suitors for more money. Maybe the interst in Clarkson is league minimum...only justification for it.

your trading Hart for Sexton?

Yeah, I like hart but he is really just a 20 mpg player, similar to sexton. Sexton gives us much needed shot creation and play making. A plus is that sexton gives max effort as well.

But then you have again at least like 10-15minutes where you have to play a super small backcourt.

At least sexton scoring the ball than hart making us play 5 on 4

there are way more guards that can score that come available...losing a wing for a guard is simple something we can't handle right now. Hart for all his faults was nearly in the all-star convo last year. I think overuse he started to fall off a bit but I can't be trading Hart for a guard.

Sexton might be max effort but he's smaller and not a POA defender so he can't play alongside brunson. I don't see the value.

IQ and Brunson worked so I would give it a shot with Sexton. I like hart (wanted the Knicks to get him since he was a pelican) but it’s hard to win a chip with him since we’re 5 on 4 with his non ability to shoot.

Westbrook won the "Player Most Likely To Take A 3 Point Shot That Looks Like A Beach Ball On Windy Day" award last year. So there's that

IQ had a 6'8 wingspan (similar to mcbride) I think and always had pretty good defensive metrics so you could get buy. Sexton has no defensive acumen and you already are dealing with JB/KAT which you have to make up for defense...adding a 3rd defender teams could search out like that I don't see it.

I’ve been rooting for us to get Sexton for months, but deep inside I knew we’d end up with this guy instead. What a bummer…

This just seems like we are desperate for depth we will take anyone that can put the ball in the basket even if the fit is odd.

We will be linked to everyone. Seeing how we don't talk to the media... It's not coming from Knicks sauces.

this seems more than just talk...respected reports are coming out that Clarkson to the knicks is a thing.

He makes sense. Good character. Team guy. Durable. He can play SG. Cheap. He fits the profile that the Front Office uses to look for in a player.

Clarkson and Ayton would be a good off season any way you slice it given our lack of cap space and resources to trade.

Sexton has a 6’7 wingspan so he’s not that off. But still, I just don’t see how you can win a chip with Josh hart in the playoffs. He shot 18% from 3 against Indiana. Basically a mini Ben Simmons.

I think the FO should be looking at one of two things.

Guys that can either hit a 3 or defend (ideally with some size)...ideally both together (but that is tough to come by with how little funds we have).

I would have to dive into Clarkson C&S potential because is raw 3 pt numbers are rough.

Sexton would’ve been nice along with Kessler. That ship has sailed.
