I would not understand trading for AW and then letting LeVert go. For me, LeVert is a more interesting player, as he can handle the ball and create while also scoring. He can defend multiple positions.
AW is a good player, but he is not a multi-position guy. He is just a scorer and defender SG with a nice and effective stroke and can also defend SFs. but he is more unidimensional, so to say.
I would like to have both + Krejci.

Knicks fan here. Just wanted a more informed opinion of Gueye as a defender. What would you say his strengths and weaknesses are as a defender? I was looking for a mobile 4/5 that could provide some rim protection to cover for KAT while also the ability to stay with bigger wings on the perimeter. I know he is pretty raw offensively and I wasn't sure what the plan was with JJ returning, Newell just drafted and OO and KP at the 5.

Hawks are a fan of Gueye.
He was forced into a starting role with JJ, Nance and Capela, all out with injury. He needs to get stronger to play more 5 though. I like that he's versatile enough to play 3, 4, 5.
His offense is very much a work in progress.

The Hawks and Nuggets, sources say, also have interest in Kennard. Atlanta landing both Kennard and Nickeil Alexander-Walker would mark noted boosts to its wing rotation. – via marcstein.substack.com

He was the Hornets 4th option with 12.4 attempts per game. He shot 40% from three. He shot better than the Hornets first three options.

I have always since he was drafted by OKC (?).

F*c*
I thought he wanted to play here.
He is signing there for the same amount we could offer.
I believe we are going to receive someone in the Capela S&T.

So goodbye Caris (2 years for 29M), goodbye Clint who agrees with HOU (3 years for 21.5M)

Now, maybe Alexander-Walker is a good idea, but we will need a backup PG, and even if he would not have been perfect, seeing D'Angelo Russell signing for 2 years at 6.5M per season... Could have been a good option, because having the best Net difference of LAL, before they got DFS (who also signs with HOU, 4 years for 53M) and Luka, is not the sign of a rotation player who has no impact

We are now around 155M for eleven players (including Gueye team option, Plowden two-way and Newell first year at 100%, might be 120% which would add around 500k and make it around 155.5M).

The tax threshold is at 187.895M, so 32.5M below at this moment

Nickeil Alexander-Walker agreed to a four-year, $62 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks

Lets say his contact is 14M/15M/16M/17M, it would mean that we still are around 18/19M below the tax threshold with 12 players, and with 11M left on the Murray trade exception (and full MLE)

One more PG move we could have:
Tyus Jones for 7M, a sure 25min 10pts/5ast guy, with 1TO only and shooting 3s at 41% and FTs at 90%... We needed it to get a perfect free agency

And now, we add shooting with Kennard for 11M
Still around 7/8M before the tax, and we still have the full MLE...
