I mean, 22 PPG on fairly efficient shooting and combined with DPOY threat, I mean ... hard to argue with him if you're the team, except I don't watch him enough to know if he has that kind of impact on a game.

My instinct from the little I've watched is no, but still.

I like 3-J, but not at almost 50 million per. He's more of a 38-42 per kind of player. Max should be for guys that can drag bad teams to the playoffs and lead good teams to playoff series wins. Jaron isn't that guy .

Yea smartly run teams reserve than kinda coin for TRUE max worthy guys... Doncic, Jokic, Giannis, SGA, Ant, etc When you pay good players like they're superstars, you always get into trouble almost every time

Well keep in mind they just traded Bane for worse players, so they are certainly thinking about the cap, and as a result shifted from a 3 star plan to a 2 star plan. Makes sense to me.

Do I expect them to chip? No, but that’s true of most teams.

And use the money on who? Teams like Memphis, Utah, and New Orleans are stuck because they have to overpay these guys or they’ll go to a bigger market.

It was pretty clear that after trading the 200M or whatever it was owed to Bane was to lock up Morant/JJJ to max deals. It is fair to question if that is a good idea, but it was obvious this deal was going to happen.
