they just agreed to a deal. paul's cap hit is a tiny $2.3M so depending on whatever other moves they make he'll officially sign in whatever order makes their transactions work, it shouldn't impact much right now. Edit:

Super surprised that Paul isn’t a vet minimum guy. He did a solid job in the playoffs when Stew was out but rarely do third string out of rotation players get more then the minimum unless they are young with upside.

So far, this seems like a very timid, and weak FA period for Langdon. I'll hold my tongue to a degree, until we see how everything shakes out, but making Reed your first priority sends a clear signal, that Langdon is afraid to make a mistake.

Maybe Klintman is wowing behind the scenes. Maybe no player wanted to come here. We are not privy to that part of it, but if the team signs LeVert, my brain will explode.

To add to what others have said, it's just an agreement and in reality he could easily be the last to actually put pen to paper. As a matter of fact this deal probably works both in cap space or if they operate over the cap. This could be the BAE or part of MLE. So it really doesn't even indicate what direction they are heading with that.

Hmm. Why act as over the cap now if it's looking like we've lost Schroder already?

Seems like all that does is reduce what we can spend. It probably means we've given up on NAW, but even in that light I don't really see the point.

To be fair, Langdon said that he didn't expect to make big waves going into FA. He probably was operating under the belief that Beasley would be a priority signing though.

Biannual exception amount for bball Paul so we must have interest in keeping THJ and or Beasley and also want to have access to the full MLE.

He said that when he didn't think he was going to need to replace 3.9 made threes per game.

I think it was fair for folks to expect something more in that light.

Am I missing something?

Isn't it also possible this is part of the room exception?

Loved B-Ball Paul for his role at vet minimum.$5.5M for a 3rd string Center though? Seems kind of awful and unnecessary.

Let Luke bomb away from 3, and i guarantee everyone would forget Beasley by week 2.
