Player option. 1 year deal if he plays well. 2 years if he's bad.

You'd have bid against yourself and given him 3* as much, the full MLE, so we went like 5 deep. :D

He didn't want to get Bogi'd again. Only the Lakers and/or Lebron are allowed to do that.

It would make sense to give him the BAE at the same value, cuz it gives you flexibility to splurge to sign GTJ, if you really want to. Now, I don't want to splurge. So I'd draw the line around the MLE/BAE difference of 9m. But they might go 10+.

Right so basically a one year deal. He'll outperform $5.5
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I hope it's out of the MLE and just save the BAE next year. He's 4th on my priority list to bring back. Would rather have GTJ, Brook and Rollins before KPJ.

Should still have plenty of money for GTJ and an Ayton pursuit.

I figured it'd be a 1+1 no matter what but for the BAE is pretty cool.

Disagree. I'd put them all below. Especially Rollins

Fantastic! Although I wish it was a team option, but we all know Horst can’t help himself.

Would this give us his Bird rights for next summer? Then he could opt out and we could sign him to a bigger deal like Bobby did a couple of years ago right?

This sets us up to keep him long term if it works out this year.

Agreed. Not a lot of team options given out anymore. There are some but not many

I'm so happy for you that he's back. I know you were worried here, but there just wasn't competition for him

Early Bird rights, but that will be plenty.
