Cam Johnson is not a good defender. Like at all.

He’s not, but if the $17M saved allows the Nuggets to add a quality player or two with the MLE, it’s worth it for them.

For sure. They should hopefully be able to add two more players for that 17.

The Nets have the cap space to absorb Porter Jr’s extra $17M.

ah ok, so the Nets were basically the only team where this trade was possible

Nets were looking to take on bad contracts as long as a pick was attached to it. They have cap space and they're not competing for anything rn.

Denver saved like $17 million in salary per year

Giving away a completely unprotected first rounder when your star player is long gone is crazy to me.

Good trade for Denver, they wanted to maximize Joker's window

Is it as crazy as sitting on your hands while you piss away season after season with an all time great in his prime?

Two similar players, one is cheaper and more reliable than the other, at the expense of an unprotected first.

This is a horrible trade for Denver and Jokic may need to start exploring options

Maybe this allows them to sign someone else but idk.

They want to be bad for a high lotto pick in 2026. If they give Fernandez too many good vets, he's going to win too many games, just like he did last season at the start.

Bruce Brown is already one. If they add another, that makes Denver really scary, once again. Not what I wanted to see as a Rockets’ fan.

I like it for Denver. I think Brooklyn could have done better. The pick is valuable, but it's 7 years from now.

The price seems to be low. I expected that pick to be required just to unload mpj. Cam I thought it was worth a first round pick on his own.

How do you figure? Denver saved $17 million in the trade, giving them access to the full MLE. They’ve already agreed to bring Bruce Brown back, and they might be able to add another rotation player or two to a team that desperately needs them.

So basically Bruce Brown and Cam for MPJ and the 2032 1st. Denver had to do it when you have the Joker on your team.
