Terrible signing, makes no sense whatsoever. Doesn't create spacing, inconsistent shooter, injury prone.

With Bealsey that's a tandem to come in. A replacement for Beasley....even with an expected regression from Beasley is a huge gamble.

.5 3 point makes recovered. 3.4 to go.

Could be worse. Defense improves, offense slightly tanks

Not sure where the hawks get scoring besides Tre.

for reference, levert has made at least $16M the last five seasons (on two different contracts). it's right in line with his value.

You can't save money in the nba. He's basically here for 1 year and then he'll get moved for salary cap space. Seems like TL is punting just like Troy Weaver

Who were we bidding against?

Why 2 years?

No team was offering MLE money for him.

Cowardly move. Oh well. Langdon signaled he was going to be conservative, but I didn't think he would be oblivious to team needs.

Does his trajectory appear to be ascending or declining?

When he was younger, I could understand that price tag but he’s a know commodity now and he best seasons appear to be behind him.

I won’t act like I watch Caris Levert hoop when we’re not playing against him. But I do know many of yall hated all three veteran signings last summer. Just let the dust settle. We’re 2 hours into the offseason. Trades are a thing, Beasley returning for cheaper than expected if cleared is a thing, Schroeder S&T is a thing (rumors … but we can hope they send us Monk)

Someone on the Transactions board said given his play style he's more of a THJ/Schroder replacement than a Beasley replacement.

Which would be fine. If we had money to replace Beasley.

Beasley may not be cleared for months and months. Federal investigations are often slow. Look how long it took Rozier to be cleared.

Not a fan, but if he's signed I'm hoping for the best.

It's called RESPECT! If free agents know you are going to low ball them then they will not look your way in the future.

If LeVert was the best option available an hour after FA starts... I'm fine waiting it out a few more days and see what else we could get. I understand going in right away if you can get someone like Aldama or DFS... but I can't understand the need to give a big offer to someone like LeVert right away.

I'll go out on a limb and say I'm perfectly prepared to believe this was our best available option.

I still am not happy about it, but I'm well past the point as a poster where I'm going to assume I as an armchair GM without insider knowledge know there was a better move out there that we just missed.

It's worth noting given we clearly were acting as a capped out team that this was our last FA money. Any additional offseason moves will be trades.

I think it's patently obvious TL didn't have many options. Remember Bickerstaff had Lavert in Cleveland. knows his game. Guy can still score in double digits off the bench. He brings energy, plays solid D, and hit mid-range jumpers and slash his way to the rim. This is not a bad signing IMO. However, it still leaves us without adequate three point shooting and 3 & D PF.
