I mean, it's good value for Houston, but is Capela really going there to be a third stringer? Are they planning to play a huge lineup with Alperen Sengun at PF and Tari Eason as the backup SG? I'm not really sure what's going on.
I think you just answered your own question....They will prolly play Sengun at the 4 sometimes as well...

I think they going to move Sengun for a shooting PF. Maybe for Lauri. for example.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

Lopez was absolutely cooked in the playoffs, but at least hole gives the Clippers a different look for when Zubac sits.

So many centers off the market while Bobby is twiddling his thumbs.

The West is stacked
If KD misses time they are really rolling with FVV (if he is back), Amen (zero offense) Thompson, Dorian Finney Smith (I only shoot threes), Jabari Smith (still waiting on the potential) and either Steven Adams or Clint Capela (both will be played off the court in the playoffs). Houston is far form a sure thing, in my mind.
Sengun is the only thing worth tuning in for.

We never have any cap flexibility to make small, impactful moves. SMH
Wanted to go after guys like Looney, Horford, and Lopez. But unfortunately, we have zero cap flexibility.
Gonna have to throw a vet min at Dwight Howard.

Convenient that you left out baby Jokic Sengun in your evaluation.

Okay man whatever you say.
Have you not noticed the revival of the 7 footer?
And CMB skill set is way better used at the PF spot.
Why would you even want a 6'8 center? Scottie should be the C if anything. He's bigger and longer.
Sometimes you just get a player that doesnt fit the mold. Thats what CMB is. He's a positionless player and there will be minutes at the C position. Is a he a traditional Center. No. But hes going to be the Center is a Center by committe Centerless lineup if you wanna call it that. We had Precious Achuiwa as our Center. Brandon Clarke played minutes at C. But CMB cant do it? Defensively everything will switch so whether its Mogbo, Barnes, CMB its not necassarily he will just be a screen setting low post player. Its dynamic and unique. They wouldnt have drafted him at 9 if they didnt think he could eat up those minutes. But its okay we will watch the games and you guys will be surprised. Youll realise that 6'8 240 with a 7'1 wingspan is alot bigger than you think.
They absolutely did not draft him thinking that he was their future C.
Can he play small ball 5. Absolutely. But That doesn't make him a 5.
We likely have 2-5 years more of Yak as our starting 5. Even if we didn't have Yak for that long there is no way that the team is looking at CMB and thinking he's the Yak replacement.
CMB is going to be a stud, and will start his career as a backup PF and occasionally getting some small ball 5 mins. But his long term potential is as a hybrid 3-4. Where his strength and size and defensive versatility is maximized. If he's great at playing small ball C that is bonus.

A 52 win 2nd seed team just added KD/DFS/Capella and only lost Brooks/Green....On paper thats a huge upgrade....DFS Is a great 3&D player who can play in the playoffs, Capella is a great rebounder/rim prot.....KD gives them a legit go to guy....
Idk what there is to not like about that....Great offseason while also keeping their future draft picks to make extra moves if need be for another superstar.
Not to mention all their young guys
Amen/Reed Shepp/Tari/Sengun/Jabari Smith Jr All could still hve another gear in their games as they are still developing.

Maybe tanking for a few years and having cap space helps

Honestly, less worthy players have been signed over him. Just give me Chris Boucher back and we can role with CMB beside him.

I’d be happy with Boucher coming back.
