Heat are in dire need of a full rebuild. They desperately need to start the asset piling and drafting high….

It wasn't fast. They were dead in Houston for 3.5 years. They had a great month of March in year 4(the 23-24 season) and got to .500. No one talked about that team in the city except when it was draft time. Hoping for the #1 pick that they never got. They were good last year. So now they're going into year 6 of a rebuild and looking to win their first playoff series since Harden quit on them. You signing up for half a decade rebuild? People think they are until they're in the middle of it.

Miami shouldn't be quick to commit to long-term contracts/money. Miami should be aiming to maximize the value of what's on the roster for a move to come. If that move doesn't manifest in the next year or so, then blow it up (again, hopefully while having pumped up the value of current assets on roster) for maximum return.

The team already made a shift midseason. I'd like them to get off the Rozier and Wiggins contracts and just fully lean in to the youth, barring an unexpected major acquisition.

PG - Mitchell / Jackucionis / Smith
SG - Herro / Larsson
SF - Jaquez / Jovic
PF - Adebayo / Johnson
C - Ware / Vet Big

That's a fun mix of established and emerging talent. Give the guys bigger roles and see if they grow.

Yep! this is the way...

He'd be a nice backup big and insurance policy. I don't hate it.

The Heat made it out the play in after the chaos season they just had. I think they can pull out atleast the play in again with how depleted things are now in the east

Just a matter at looking at their young roster and believing in improvement

Why do you look at their young roster and see improvement, but look at ours and not?

It's entirely conceivable that Ware and Jovic could make leaps this year too.

Melo n Miller have sky high ceilings

I’m not a believer in Jovic and have been consistently posting that much

Ware in Spo’s system is a mismatch imo

I'm fine with Miami retooling. They just need to be more proactive and think more long-term with asset management. If you are trying to get trade assets, trade the guy while his stock his high. They always get caught in a bad situation, usually from their own making. They fall in love with their own players way too much, even when it's obvious they aren't going to be good enough to win a title. There is nothing wrong with retooling. They've just done a horrible job at it in recent years.

I wouldn’t mind Horford, there’s probably a few things he can teach Bam and plenty he could teach Ware. I prefer the Collins route though, hopefully that was more than smoke

Do they? What makes LaMelo a better ball player than Herro?

Ceilings are irrelevant if they don't know how to maximise it, or don't have the organisational structure and coaching to harness it.

Jovic has improved every year. 6'10" stretch 4 who averaged 10/4/3 and 1.7 threes per game in his 3rd year, and only just turned 22 years old last month. He was always going to be a slow burn, but showed significant improvement, found a role and put together a strong year. He's a couple months younger than Walter Clayton Jr, who was just drafted.

Spo gave Ware a much longer rope than he would most rookie bigs. We had some of our best success in 3 big lineups with Jovic/Bam/Ware, albeit in limited time. I think he will go to this more often this season.

The level of suckage of that team is going to be biblical.

What’s the alternative? Treading water for that same time and longer? There’s no Jimmy bailing us out of deep chit this time. Move on, time to transition to the next era. Drafting high and asset stockpiling is the ONLY way to build a title contender

It would be nice to get some news. I've seen more pictures of AI Pat Riley sleeping than any news. The only updates are is they are trying.

Mia should call Ind and see if they want Herro

They have enough defenders to help cover him being a weak link

With Hali out, he gives them much needed shooting

And they could always trade him in a years time when Hali returns

Mia should be asking for a package built around Mathurin
