Wild train of thought. Goga for Pat Connaughton and 1st. Then WCJ and the 1st for Nic Claxton.

Claxton makes WAY too much money and isn’t a clear upgrade over WCJ unfortunately.

The only bad thing is that you can't have Black shutdown players like Trae now. Tyus will need to guard them.

1 year versus 3 years.

The Magic only want Tyus around long enough until Jase is ready to take the spot.

Jase cannot possibly be ready next season.

Skills wise who is better Tyus or Tre?

Tyus fits far better. Tre is the better defender, but you’d just be bringing in another guard that defenses would love to just allow him to jack up open shots.

Tyus has shot 40% from 3 over the last 4 years. And 3 of those 4 he’s made at least 100 3s. He’s also the top of the top when it comes to just never making mistakes. Tre is also very good at that as well. But I think Tyus just has a better overall control of the offense when he’s out there.

I think it’s clear that offense is the bigger need. And if you can bring in the best of the best when it comes to never making mistakes, and add in being a 40% shooter from 3. As much as I love Tre (both Jones brothers are some of my favorites), Tyus is the much better fit in my opinion.

Where did you see that?

It’s circling around X, apparently Haynes mentioned or hinted to it briefly on the live broadcast?

Flexibility my guy. Tyus doesn’t have to be on the court if he’s getting burned.

I don't think anyone was able to corroborate that though.

Yeah. The idea of a Claxton type of player is great… but Claxton himself leaves a lot to be desired… especially for the money he makes.

I’m not a capologist by any means, but the descending nature of Claxton’s deal and ascending nature of Carter’s makes them more similar than you’d think. I too thought that Claxton was way more expensive until I looked at the contract structures.

Magic may prefer a player who gets cheaper over time. Not sure. It would be a bold move.

Not convinced our team is better than Atlanta. I was already nervous about them as competitors at full strength. With their additions, they might be a more complete team than us.

Claxton makes more than WCJ every year even when considering the contract structure

AB would probably guard the best guard on the floor.

This is an arms race. I hope Weltman didn’t think other teams would sit and twiddle their thumbs after we got Bane.

He does, my point was just that they are at least in more similar ballparks than I had thought. With some moves the team could make it work if they see Claxton’s play style as an upgrade.

It’s hard to trust much on that Nets team. They are so awful.

I want to hear more Claxton talk...our 2032 pick is available as of today- for the right move. The only thing limiting ORL right now is our C rotation.

WCJ is good enough when he plays hard or when he even plays...when his extension kicks in, he's a negative. Keeping Goga around just because WCJ WILL break down is a weak ass plan.
