So we either are working up a trade for a center, or Jeffie has been completely out-maneuvered by every team who signed these centers.

i think it's always been about who to trade for. The centers that have signed today weren't going to fix the giant hole the Mark trade blasted into our roster.

Guess so. Anyone waiting around for an info drop can just turn in for the night. I have a feeling it may be a while.

Any trade for a center runs parallel with the first wave of spending at peak speed.

We will see what happens when the accounts settle. Nets are the only team with real cap space and they still intend to broker it for assets.

They dealt Cam Johnson.

Their last remaining good player on a big contract is Nic Claxton.

We're all waiting on the Nets to help settle payroll.

They just helped Denver open up the full MLE, with Denver spending an unprotected first for Cam Johnson.

Rockets got 3 centers now with Sengun/Capela/Adams

That's interesting because they just signed Adams then turn around and sign Capela when they already have Sengun.

Wouldn't shock me if Giannis is traded to Houston for Sengun+ Eason/Whitmore + picks

I just think our current top 4 scoring options can give us a top 10 offense. Probably, a rudimentary way to look at it but here's their career averages/high seasonal PPG.

LaMelo - 21.0/25.2
Miller - 18.3/21.0
Sexton 18.8/24.3
Miles 15.7/21.0

The 4th scoring option is Miles who scored 21 points in a season.

The oldest is Miles and Sexton - both 26.

It just looks like the makings of a young core.

We can't Mason Plumlee this season with all that scoring talent on this roster right now. It's the most scoring talent we've seen since we won 43 games with LaMelo, Rozier, Hayward, and Miles.

I like Sexton more than Terry and Miller more than Hayward.

Thing is you're just looking at the offense. Our roster is pretty bad defensively. As much needed scoring Sexton brings he's also equally bad on defense.

If we are making a big move it needs to be for a real impact player. Trading a few picks for a Claxton is not going to take us to another level.

Now if we talking Bam or even Gobert okay now I can see a team trying to really compete. We need to add some defense to this roster. I like Ben Simmons maybe get him for cheap now we have a real piece that can actually guard the opposing teams best offensive player.

Will be interesting to see what our next move is.

That is why I suspect we will add a core player at 5 who can defend.

Plumdog was not on my bingo card smh

I spoke too soon.

We have Mason Plumleed this season at center, and assumed the position.

Now Jeff has gone too far.

Goes back to his "magical conversations" in BKN with current Hornets advisor Steve Clifford when Cliff worked alongside Peterson there.

Was hoping for guerschon or bryant at this point in shopping the scrap heap but plumdog will result in more lpg. Laughs per game.

Plumlee is probably here to mentor Kalkbrenner. I am a real believer that Kalk will be a above average center and the Hornets first 2nd round pick that hits in a huge way in franchise history (or at least has a good career)

The only thing giving me hope is Peterson is stocking up on picks for a major move down the line.

This Plumlee signing hurt tho. I was getting on the bandwagon then he pulls this crap off as our center signing smh.

I cannot fathom this particular center of all centers getting a roster spot sandwiched between Moussa Diabaté on a 2 million deal and 2nd round pick on a similarly priced contract.

These new hotshot owners.

Is there a cheaper collection of 3 centers on any roster in the NBA right now?

(*checks all the tanking teams*).

Nope.

Hopefully Kalkbrenner is the starter asap but if not was hoping we would get Kornet or Sharpe. Oof.
Well, he is at least durable and cheap.
