Ayo must be gone, really liked his time here.

Why can’t Ayo be the 3rd guard behind Jones and Coby? Ago isn’t a pure PG, but he’s a nice combo guard off the bench.

Or why can't Ayo start next to Tre and we ship out Coby

I wouldn’t be opposed to trading Coby in the right deal. Not excited about paying him his first big contract.

I’m undecided on Coby White. He’s only 25 years and seems to still be on an upward trajectory. I think he would be great as a 3rd option. If he plays like he did the second half of season and we can sign him for 3rd option money ($30 million max) I would be OK with that. I just don’t want to sign him to deal that would a burden to trade.

I don't really follow the cap stuff anymore. Who do we have on contract after next season and for how much?

Pat - $18M
Okoro - $11M
Smith - $9M
Matas - $6M
Phillips - $2M
Jones - $8M
Essengue - $6M??
----------------
Total = ~$60M
Expected 26-27 Cap = $166M

Assuming we sign Giddey and Coby to $30M AAV, we'd still have around $46M with 6 roster spots open. Could probably resign Ayo and Huerter for less than Coby and maybe get some draft capital back for Coby. Should be an interesting year.

Glad we kept Jones.

We should still keep Ayo, IMO.

Our team looked a lot better after we traded Lavine. We didn’t get to see Ayo’s game unleashed because he got hurt and needed surgery, but he definitely “fits” the fast paced offense we want to run and at 6’5 with long arms he provides multi-position versatility both on offense and defense.

I would offer Ayo an extension right now coming off surgery, maybe we could get another hometown discount. I still believe he can show more and continue to get better.

So this now makes it seem like Kuminga for Vuc+Coby? Or if we’re lucky, Vuc+Ayo?

I don’t care whether Ayo gets traded or not but yeah I don’t see why he can’t stay on the roster even with Tre.

They can always compete for minutes also there will be plenty of opportunities for all to play with so many injuries during the season.

I think he's better than Davion Mitchell and Ty Jerome and probably NAW too

Another in the long line of great moves from AKME. Love it. They are great at pinpointing guys they want and making sure they get them.

I’m skeptical that this is a great signing. It’s OK at best. We just signed a 6’1 backup PG to Jevon+ money. His on/off numbers were hugely negative in a small sample size (and what seemed to be a great Bulls run- should’ve been the exact opposite). He is really small.

I think Arturas thinks that signing the most mediocre guys to the most mediocre money is some wild formula for success.

These are all the players we have traded for or signed in the last 2 years

Bulls
1 Giddey 6'8 69/70 14.6p 8.1r 7.2a 1.2s Jones 6'1 9/18 11.5p 3.2r 4.9a 1.1s (3)
2 Huerter 6'7 16/26 13.2p 3.3r 3.2a 1.2s (1)
3 Okoro 6'5 22/55 6.1p 2.4r (2) Williams 6'8 36/63 9p 3.8r 2a (4)
4 Buzelis 6'10 31/80 8.6p 3.5r (3) Essengue 6'10 (4)
5 Collins 6'11 8/28 8.6p 3.5r (1) Smith 6'9 2/64 8.2p 5.6r (2)

Mitchell is better and NAW is a wing that guards the best offensive player.

Ty and Tre are similar. Ty played better last season.

Good deal in expected range, (8-10M per).. glad to see him back! About Ayo - of course he can stay, Ayo isnt typical PG, he can play and guard 1-3 spots.. I wouldnt want to lose him

Kuminga isn’t even on the table unless it’s Pat.

His agent is trying to drum up a market and there isn’t one.

The money is nothing and its not too long of a term even if he sucks. But if all these moves are as disasterous as everyone thinks they are (Tre, Okoro, Essengue), then the silver lining is we'll suck and be tankers without trying! (unless Giddey & Coby carry over their post ASB runs)

I think the point is that these moves make us better than a bottom-8 team, but worse than a playoff team. And you keep signing these Jevons and Patricks and Jalens that play DNP-15 mpg roles, and you sit back and wonder WTF $60M long-term is going towards a bunch of 3rd-string reserves.
