I really hope we don't get Malik Monk back in a sign-and-trade. I'd assume we aren't since we got LeVert seems like that bench scorer roll has been filled.

I wonder if TL would have any interest in bringing Trey Lyles in via double S&T with Schroeder to be a backup shooter big who can compete with Font for backup minutes.

C: Duren / Stew / BBall Paul
F: Tobias / Lyles / Klintman
F: Ausar / Holland / Font
G: Ivey / LeVert / Chaz
G: Cade / Sasser / (Vet Min PG? CoJo?)

I also think its possible we decided to operate as an over the cap team so we don't have to renounce Beasley and we still have the ability to pay him 1 year $7.2 million deal later this fall.

Another factor:

From ESPN: The Atlanta Hawks are sending a 2027 second-round pick (via Cleveland) and cash considerations to the Minnesota Timberwolves to acquire Nickeil Alexander-Walker via sign-and-trade

Assuming they want to keep together Young, Johnson, Risacher and Daniels … how?

Wait wait wait…you want Trey Lyles and NOT Monk? Monk fits exactly what we need right now. Is there a rumor of this or something??

Kennard got a 1 year, $11 million from the Hawks. Free agency is weird

Pelicans signed Kevon Looney, Troy Weaver has some say over there. Please Trajan steal a Pelicans player

Sacramento has LaVine, DeMar, Monk and now Schroeder there is only so much ball to go around. Monk coming off a really down year shooting awful percentages and still is owed $60+ million over the next 3 seasons. Kings are also reportedly trying to bring in Westbrook as well to be Schroeder's backup PG.

I'd take Lyles on a very cheap deal similar to what Paul Reed got. I think just having another big who can shoot is going to be helpful as we've seen Duren and Stew with their share of missed games as well as Ausar's blood clot issue(hopefully completely in the past) and Tobias' age.

I think we have 13 guys on the roster I'd probably look to bring in one more big who can shoot for the minimum and then leave that 14th spot open until the fall.... of course you can also make an arguement we'd be better off with a 3rd string vet min PG instead of a big who can space the floor.

I'm one of the 3 Pistons fans that actually liked Lyles so I'd be good with it.

I hated the Lyles signing at first but really liked him after seeing him play. Then after watching Bagkey play I loved Lyles

Lol yeah Lyles had that stretch where he was literally playing center for us. He was totally outmatched but yet still productive.

Where is the notion of a sign and trade coming from?

Ah okay. They signed him to the MLE. There's really no reason to believe they have any need or incentive to do a sign and trade.

I mean, if they're not planning to resign him anyway, there's definitely incentive.

Monk is… interesting. We’re definitely going over the cap if this is the case, he has 3/60 left.

He gets shots up, but can’t shoot like Beas. Real finisher, though, unlike Beas.
