I’m happy with Sexton trade mostly but if we walk away without Tre Mann, not using MLE and Plumlee as the answer as Center add then it is pretty easily an L for me.

This is why I think the Mark trade was bad.

I didn't think the loss of Nick Richards, the loss of Mark Williams, the return of the actual real life Mason Plumlee, the return of Vasa Micic (in spirit), the lurking of Steve Clifford could produce an A+ offseason like this.

But here we are.

I was happy with the Mark trade on draft night because I assumed there was some other underlying plan at C. I’m fine with those who are way more skeptical on this deal now if THIS is the plan at C this year.

I’m just still so confused with what they want this season to be. So many moves suggested they were ready to at least be a somewhat serious team again. But you just can’t be with this front court I don’t really care how good the rest of your team is. We’re gonna get pummeled

You just can’t go into a season with an incompetent frontcourt like this. It’s incomprehensible

Yall, what did you expect? Some franchise-altering trade? The Hornets front office is not known for its craftiness or imagination. This is proof positive that we should believe the plan Peterson has put in place to build slowly, incrementally. Plumlee is the perfect piece to add to that plan.

Diabate will start and they will develop Kalkbrenner. That’s the plan. No subtlety. No 4D chess going on. The stage is being set for 2026-27. The coming season will be but a phase in the overall strategic plan to build a sustainable winner.

Of course…one must win for that to happen, so there’s that.

?????????????

The first half is saying clearly, that the front office is bad at its job. Why should I believe in the worthless horse **** they put out?

Mainly because they’re doing what they said they’d do - stockpile assets, draft for character and build slowly. It ain’t sexy and they’ll continue to lose, but it is their stated plan.

This is probably where we’re at and honestly that’s fine with me. But I hope we at least aren’t as embarrassing as we’ve been the last two seasons. Donovan Clingan would be nice right now

Plus-1 for UConn.

Minus-1 for Duke.

Where is UNC right now. Sleeping?

Strike deals for who?

Ayton is like the last big name left.

Give me Ben Simmons and call it a summer.

I think its looking pretty obvious we will take bad contracts into the MLE and/or biannual exceptions for draft picks again.

Well NO, I’m not happy with signing a clod hopper center who wasn’t worth a crap when here earlier, and is less capable as an older pile of crap. There are multiple FA’s we could have signed that were tons better and not uber expensive. Sharpe has more game and potential than anyone we’ve got or had. But NO….had to retread a tire to be cheap.

People here saying they’ll start Diabetes at center. WTF? He’s a rail thin lightweight, who I love as an effort guy, but he will be killed in the middle! At this point I’d start Kalkbrenner over him and the Plumber, and he hasn’t set foot on an NBA court yet. Sickening is what this is.

Peterson had his secret deal with Utah to skip over Bailey, gets us a really good player in Sexton for a bag of rocks. Great move…so WHY STUNT THE GROWTH WITH A CHICKEN CRAP CHOICE LIKE THIS?? It boggles my mind really. I think Jeffie is scared to put himself on the line very much. No wonder other NBA players bemoan their guys who get traded here.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I thought the frontcourt would be addressed via trade, we'll see if that ends up happening. There are several teams overloaded in the frontcourt such as the Wolves, Mavs, Nets, Jazz, etc.
