I fully agree. It's our turn for once lol
I dunno... Magic curse is supposed to be unbeatable..
Seems that way, it's been going on for years now. Frye(wasn't a bad shooter just didn't pan out), luke ridnour,Jeff green, CJ watson, Jonathan Simmons, shelving mack,al Farooq aminu, kcp....
These guys were all horrible for Orlando(don't forget bizmack).... Only really quality veteran signing that work out for Orlando since Dwight left was dj augustin I believe(maybe joe Ingles)... And even then he should have never been starting for as long as he was.

Re: Welcome to Orlando, Tyus Jones
- Has on-court chemistry with Desmond Bane. Will feel like how Cory Joseph steadied us at the end stretch and for the Playoffs last season. But 10x better.
- Shot 40% 3P% in MEM’s deepest Playoffs run.
- Has an absurd almost 4 APG to 1 TO ratio in full Playoffs career so far.
- Had a logic-defying 7.3 APG to 1 TO season recently in WAS, and it was still under 30 MPG.
- Absolutely ridiculous 41.4% 3P% for last two regular seasons in a row.
- My opinion: I would have probably chased NAW and GTJ more but Tyus was still a top 3 target for me, and we just saw a Playoffs dominated by multiple can-handle-the-rock players on the floor at the same time. And he still bombs 3’s just like catch and shoot wings. Makes perfect sense.

I agree with all except for Jonathan Simmons he actually had a decent stint over performing and then just puttered out towards the end of his days with us.

I flew home from Germany during all this. I've processed with the discord peeps.RookieStar wrote:I wonder where @eyriq is?
Bro.. come here and welcome ABs replace... i mean partner.
1. It hard caps us at the first apron since we went over the T-MLE and limits what we can pay Moritz.
2. Between Bane's three point volume and Tyus' ball control we've addressed our biggest weaknesses.
3. A one year rental is interesting, gives our young guards a gap year.
4. Curious about the fit with Bane/Franz/Paolo, does a floor general work with a wing-hub offense?
5. Willing to wager that AB ends with more minutes and MPG.
6. I love it, we have a very versatile team now. The offense will get better.

Only a one year deal, so the belief in AB as PG of the future is still there. They don't want AB to break out with 10 assists a game off the bench yet because they want to keep his extension price down.
Those are your talking points going forward.

Seriously though just let AB's game speak for itself, he is going to be fine. Tyus at 1/7 is a solid pickup. They needed another PG on the roster, like even if you believe AB is a PG right now. There will be times he helps us and times Mose loses it with his poor defense, but at 1/7 I don't think you can really go wrong.
Oh, I quite like that spin!

Can't be mad at this move, another 40% 3pt shooter and someone who doesn't turn the ball over

Finally a point guard. yeey.
Tyus Jones is probably most mentioned player in context of Magic needs for past 3 years.

Re: Welcome to Orlando, Tyus Jones
I will judge him based on whether or not as a Magic he shoots at least 35% from 3
When players come to the Magic their 3pt % goes down.

Re: Welcome to Orlando, Tyus Jones
Hahaha, well finally (so to speak).
I wonder how it'll work if him and Jase share the backcourt together, with both of them being so small and all. But realistically Tyus will probably pair with AB or one of the starters most of the time
Anyway welcome! Let's get some wins!

Tyus Jones, career backup, walked into Orlando and instantly become best PG in past 15 years
This isn't even a joke.
btw, I heard, but can't confirm it, that there are wild point guards in nba that can dribble. And pass. And do so without turning back to basket 60 feet from rim. And some of them can even shoot. Without gun. Can you imagine that?
