Rollins, i have no idea how that one works

Maybe I'm wrong but we're already probably pretty much at or over that hard apron with an MLE deal, if Sims or Rollins got deals over their cap holds essentially it would just cut into the allowable salary, their bird rights don't really effect that at all.

we have full MLE + 1 vet min, can still let livingston go aswell to clear 2.2m

We'd be hard capped at 195.9 because of the BAE/MLE. Rollins and Sims' deals could also cut into that MLE depending. Could cut Livingston (and AJax I suppose but seems less likely). Also my numbers could be wrong, IDK.

Giannis - 54,126,450
Dame - 54,126,450
Kuzma - 25,410,605 (apron hit)
Bobby - 13,445,754? (cap hold number)
Connaughton - 9,423,869 (accepted player option)
KPJ - 5,134,000 (BAE)
GTJ - 3,697,100 (minimum)
Prince - 3,500,000? (minimum)
Ryan Rollins - 2,818,151 (qualifying offer cap hold)
AJ Green - 2,301,587
Ajax - 2,221,677 (unguaranteed)
Livingston - 2,221,677 (unguaranteed)
Sims - 2,178,069 (cap hold)
Tyler Smith - 1,955,377
-----------
182,560,766

MLE - 14,104,000
-----------
196,664,766 (over hard cap)

They can also ship Pat to the Nets with whatever the most cash you can send is for a top 55 protected second and get a bunch of breathing room. Or if it’s close, trade him for Javon Carter’s two year deal. Or waive and stretch him.

Also I bet Bobby’s salary this year is whatever the lowest possible amount it is in the structure of that deal.

This is clearly a one time dip below the first apron to get the MLE and BAE.

The veteran minimum contract only count against the cap as if they only have 2 years experience, so that prince contract will only count for about 2.3m. Cut Livingston and sign Bogoljub at 1.2m.

If the Bucks and Giannis are cool with a 45-48 win season and want to rebuild on the fly, I'm good with that. What else can they do, really? That's what these moves feel like.

So GTJ only counts as $2.3M as well?

I don't know what big they could be working on for the MLE. Not much fits the bill. They'd almost have to be over-exaggerating.

Big would be a trade into the MLE, while probably attaching '31 &/or 32. Ideally for around a 6'6 wing. Herb Jones?

I don’t think so, since we used non-bird rights to retain him. I could be wrong on that, but I don’t think that’s treated as a minimum contract anymore.

I mean, their best lineup last year was KPJ/GTJ/AJG/GA/Bobby. They kept that crew together. Their only two other playable dudes in the playoffs were Rollins and Sims, they can easily keep them. Plus they have the full MLE to add someone else and a path to also use a $7.2M TPE if they can ditch Pat.

Not sure what else to ask for besides getting rid of Kuz. Which there are options for that.

Coincidentally, I did edit that in as my wild guess, before I saw your response. Makes some sense he'd want out after the mess they are. IDK if he's worth '31, w/out protections, especially with no clear #2 creative option. It'd be a bet on KPJ.

I feel doc has nowhere to hide this year, and Giannis won’t let him sabotage this year, that alone is worth an uptick. Just build a more athletic team around Gianni’s and we’re winning it all :)
Also if we have the opportunity to add even more at the deadline

Would Prince be prorated since he signed a 2 year deal? I thought that only worked on 1 year deals.

big, to me, is not the MLE.

big is packaging Kuzma, Pat, 31 1st and 32 swap.

But he's right. MLE isn't small.. It's just not big. i think most of the men of the world understand that concept :D

Maybe Horst can con Ainge’s kid into sending us Markkanen for a song.

edit: forgot to change Bogi to 1.2M as someone suggested.

He doesn’t fit into the MLE. For him you’d need to convince someone to take Kuz and Pat.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
