Too bad Jett Howard cant be that.
I believe we only have about $6m to spend, so unless moe is ok accepting the min, it seems likely we sign him to like a 2 year $11m deal, 2nd year player option and that is all we can do. Maybe sign a two way player I am guessing as i think those dont count towards apron. Wonder if we can even sign caleb to a 2 way, but that is what we can afford.

In that case sure, but I am in no rush to pull that trigger, more options are likely available by the trade deadline which also gives us time to see where the team is at anyways, is Moe back and healthy which allows us to trade one of our bigs, how are our young players progressing, who is stepping up, etc...

JI has some kind of incentive in his contract that is going to be due soon right? When is that? Could be a big indicator.

P.s. I want to keep Isaac at all costs.

I guess we got some meaningful information.

Only a one-year deal, which suggests the belief in AB as the long-term point guard is still intact. They’re giving him space to grow without driving up his extension price just yet. If he breaks out with 10 assists a game off the bench, it’ll cost them, ya know? Chess not checkers.

I have to admit, I am a little concerned with Moe. I know he likely wants to stay here and win a ring with his brother, that'd probably be really awesome for them. But I am looking at the Warriors and there is a fit with them. They lost Looney and they want a big that spreads the floor, they are interested in Horford but so are multiple other teams which could lead to them pivoting to Moe. I hope the injury is enough of a scare to other teams.

Edit: Nevermind I had heard that they had the full mle, but it seems they only have the $5.7m, we should be good, lol.

So…it seems like re-sign MoW (7.9m in 1st year) is the final step in this summer

Feels like I’d rather have Houstan than Jett. Much cheaper and much better shooter. Don’t get how Jett survived.

I agree with you. The best result is that we trade Jett for nothing (release 5.5m), re-sign MoW (27m/3y) and Houstan (2.3m, vet. min).
However, I have no idea how we can dump Jett.

I think they will resign Moe now and that’s it.
Later in year, when Moe is back, we can see how good he is this year and then it’s possible to trade Goga plus Jett for a microwave scorer.
Right now we need Goga as backup.
Another possibility is to trade AB and Jett now for that bench scorer.

And: it’s about time to become real significant. Can’t believe Knicks and Bucks got GTJ and Clarkson for such a bargain.

While I’m sure Jett will end up a casualty of the salary cap, I would love to see him get a season with Tyus Jones setting him up. I think we’d see a bonafide 40% high volume shooter if that were the situation.

I don’t think Jett is in the 10-man rotation as things presently stand.

Jones/Black is the primary reserve backcourt.

TDS gets first dibs on backup SF minutes.

There’s a chance Houstan returns and he’d be ahead of Jett too IMO.

What is the running price for Horford ? Would be such a twist to sign him.
I have my doubts if its the best idea for brothers to still live together. I have a brother and relationship is not that easy and Mo is propably just as problematic or even more than my brother :p
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Our biggest weaknesses were 3pointshooting, playmaking and TO's. Tyus helps in all three catagories. He is a not Worldbeater but perfect backup.

I'm just happy we didn't overpay for NAW. 14-15 Mio for a good but not elite defender who doesn't do anything on offense but shoot 3s (still only mid volume) at good but not elite % and some basic playmaking. Complete wrong player for our team like KCP before. Ton of money for a player who wouldn't upgrade our offense by much, makes noone around him better and is mainly another defender.

Yeah it’s an uphill battle for Jett, but if he’s still on the team come preseason I’ll be interested to see what Tyus can unlock for him and the rest of our shooters. I’m genuinely expecting a 5% improvement in 3pt shooting team wide just from having better ball movers and passers in the backcourt.
