Finally, Prince's deal is for the veteran minimum, but because it is for multiple seasons, it doesn't count for the cap-friendly $2.3 million like one-year vet minimum deals do. Instead, Prince is on the books at $3,303,770 for 2025-26 as a nine-year veteran, and for next year at an estimated $3.89 million if he picks up his player option.

Very weird the need to give PO to Prince in that case.

Favor to his agent who is also GTJ’s agent. Makes up some lost commission and keep everything on the down low about the fact GTJ is doing this as a bridge to an early bird rights raise next offseason.

here's what i got assuming that Prince and Trent's contracts each count for the actual amount

Kuzma has some thing with his incentives counting against the apron raising his hit and (minimum) Rollins and Sims are at 2,378,867 and 2,461,461 for 3 and 4 year veterans, suppose you could lower that to the 2.3 prorated if they're only 1 year deals. Still think we'd be safe under the apron if we cut Livingston, even adding Markovic, with the full MLE spent but if Rollins and/or Sims got larger deals that we wanted to keep them on we'd probably have to dump some salary. Guess it also depends where Bobby starts at, could be as low as 13.3 starting though.

this whole thing definitely needs answering. it makes a huge difference in our ability to match a Rollins offer (should someone make an offer).

let's say we use the full MLE on someone and then re sign Sims for 3M. That leaves about 4.5M for Rollins and other teams are going to know that number precisely. i'd feel a lot better knowing that number is closer to 6.

Sadly it doesn't work that way. If you do something that's restricted by apron rules, you can not go over that apron in that league year for any amount of time.

If you’re right, (although I’m certain I’ve seen they just need to finish the year under the first apron) easy to fix via order of operations: 1) someone tenders an offer to Rollins for $6M per; 2) Bucks have two or three days to match due to RFA rights; 3) Bucks trade or waive and stretch Pat to clear room; 3) Bucks officially match. Easy peasy.

Unfortunately all of these signings are pointless if Doc is still going to play Kuzma and Prince 25+ mpg each. Horst absolutely has to get them off the roster.

What’s to regret? He gave us another team friendly deal. The other option is starting Sims so what exactly should anyone regret?
