That's not necessarily true. The East's top two teams have major injury issues.

Actually, the defense wasn't the issue off the bench, the Knicks really needed a guy who can score points of the bench.

They already have the defensive players like Mitchell Robinson, McBride, Precious, and they hopefully re-sign Landry Shamet and Delon Wright. But none of them are guys who are truly capable of going on scoring runs, which is why the Knicks usually had to always have either Bridges, Brunson, or Towns on the court at all times because otherwise, the offense looked like it was running in mud.

Now will Clarkson solve all the problems offensively? Nope. But at the minimum, you can't ask for much better than him.

Clarkson has played 753 regular season games with a 16.0 ppg. I think it is fairly safe to say that he knows how to score the basketball.

Taking a ton of bad inefficient shots on a bad team is not the win you think it is. We will see how washed he is next year. For the vet min its a no risk signing but it is also nothing to get excited for until he shows he can be efficient with limited opportunities

He’s not being asked to shoot a ton of bad inefficient shots on a blatantly tanking team. He’s gonna provide a scoring punch off the bench for a championship contender. Environment can change a lot.

New age Jamal Crawford-New York desperately needed shot-making and ball handling alongside Brunson so Jordan should help. That and his proclivity to go nuclear on short notice can win them some games. Having additional offensive threats is never a bad thing where the hope is that OG and Robinson can cover for any defensive shortcomings.
