Knicks with another all centers and guards roster. I think Phil Jackson has been advising the FO lately

One bright spot...this is about as close to screwing mAinge as the Knicks are likely to get...he eats all that money and the Knicks get JC on a bargain contract for no assets lost. That's a win against him, isn't it?

I wanted Trey Mann. Always thought CLarkson was a wanna be tough guy knuckhead. But sheer talentwise its a steal for the minimum.

Bench, bench, bench...it's all we talk about, and in this apron luxury tax climate we get blessed with a former sixth man of the year, the man who has scored more points off the bench than anybody in the last few years and we're playing it off, like meh. There was no way this was happening unless there was the buyout, so good on Utah for freeing this man so he can come where he's needed and be an electrical fit.

Scoring, yea, but love his energy and moxie, too. We have enough college frat boys, who let little soft dudes come in here and roll dice on their court logo.....this man is ready to throw hands at.all.times. and I'm here for it.

He also has a following like Jeremy Lin from his Filipino community, so it's gonna be fun watching them rock with us. Really excited to see him come off the bench, no longer will there be tight sphincters...wondering who's going to go toe to toe with a **** T.J. McConnell. The bench mob will be it's own entity, it's own show, have it's own energy, it'll be fun watching him, Duece, Josh and co. run up and down and bomb. Coming from where we were, this is amazing.

Anybody complaining can go eat Cam Payne's dick.

Knicks fans irrationally complaining about getting a legit bench scorer (albeit streaky) that can create his own shot for the vet min.

They filled a legit need, and added depth and much needed toughness to this team. He doesn’t seem like the type to act buddy buddy with Draymond after a game either. If he isn’t shooting well, I hope the next coach is smart enough to just pull him.

It’s a low risk, high reward signing.

The bench should be pretty good if one of Kolec, Dadiet or Huk grow into a legit rotation player. Let’s hope that happens.

It's a vet minimum deal. Go find me someone better that's available and is willing to come here at this price. smh

But he's just worse than a replacement player at average efficiency. Throw in his turnovers and defense and you'd rather just play Deuce 10 more minutes, he'd have to regress so badly to be worse.

You need to understand, every team needs a guy like him, someone who pisses off nerds...we don't have one. Remember how Beasley got hot...did his shimmy and made you mad? Yeah, that kind of guy is what we have now. Play Duece 20 more minutes..to do what...stand around and hide from the ball when he's not feeling it? You want a play maker....we have Kolek if Clarkson isn't working that night. I guess you don't have faith in our own kid...I do...don't need some other rando to come here to make plays....make shots though...yeah, give me that.

He's going to come in and cause mayhem, keep the defense on it's toes in the limited minutes he's going to play...."hE hAd oNLy oNE AsSiSt thaT gAMe"...who the **** cares, he's not coming here to be the reincarnation of Pistol Pete, and he still averages 4 a game...what else do you want from a bench role player. You want more assists...ask our starting point guard....that's not what this man is coming here for. He's coming here to put a little fear in dudes when Brunson is off the floor and not let bums on 12 man rotations kill us.

You're breaking down his analytics like he came here to be our starting point guard, which was an idea a few years ago. A terrible idea. But this...for the vet minimum....filling a role we sorely needed to fill....come on...."efficiency"....he shot 42 percent from the field, 37 from three (50 from the corners), and 80 from free thrown line, on a tanking ship where he had the green light to chuck from wherever he wanted. I expect him to do better....can't see why not, considering he's not even that bad, people talking about his numbers like he's Westbrook.

Oh....yeah....how about THAT idea.

Houston...we have a problem.

Clarkson is 6'5 and Deuce is 6'2.5

Both ESPN and NBA got Clarkson at 6'3". He just grew 2 inches since the Knicks signed him?

He is 6'3 without shoes, 6'5 with shoes.

Kolek is 6'3 with shoes. Deuce is 6'2.5 with shoes.

Just trying to keep it consistent. I used their combine measurements.

First, on the worst team in the league, second, the only line ups he was considered the 'SF' were ones that included players(George and Juzang) that are both taller than him...that's more a statistical error than it is him actually playing at and defending the other team's SF.

Again, he's not playing a moment at SF. Even if Kolek, Deuce and him occupy the court at the same time he's not defending the other team's SF, it would be Deuce who is stronger and a much more capable defender than him.

Are you saying that he is the only nba player willing to come to ny?? Lol

Isn't that management's job? To find the RIGHT pieces. Not just ANY piece. As a fan base we love the flashy signing from another team. A jock is not a good fit. At the end of the yr each knick was hunting fir THEIR shot bc of jb, so now another me first player??

Welcome to the Knicks JC! Thanks for coming here for the vet min. I know he nearly gave Mike Breen a heart attack the last time he played at MSG but he will be great for us in controlled doses.

My hope is that Clarkson still has one great year in him. He is 33 now

The last great year that Lou Williams had was at age 33. He had a "good" year at age 34 and then that was it for him.

Jamal Crawford was a 6th man of the year candidate every year until age 37, but his last great year may have been at age 33, averaging 18.6 ppg. Seasons that followed his scoring was on the decline, but he won two 6th man of the year awards while on the decline

Because he can get to the rim, shoot, pass and score in bunches. Remember he was bought out of a rebuilding team not a dezperate free agent.

I don't see OKC or Indiana having anyone like Clarkson. Hell, Indiana would probably feast on Clarkson and his turnover habits. Also, it really doesn't help your argument when you have to start fudging Clarkson's numbers like that. Let's have some confidence in his chuckery. 40.8%. If you want to support your guy, at least share his real numbers.

There are also some other dumb arguments people are using on this board. 2021 6MOY...lol. Like that's relevant now.

Using the word "streaky" like that "untapped potential" scrub we got from the Orlando Magic. Clarkson marketing machine must be going into overdrive right now...Clarkson is not "streaky." Clarkson is very consistent. He chucks, misses, and turns the ball over.
