After Moe you mean?

Including Moe

Are you saying Moe won’t be back or are you saying Moe will only get the minimum?

My read is that as things stand Moe is back at the minimum. I don't see a market for him.

He is getting more than that.

The minimum for him is around $3M. Lets say he ends up back on a contract between $5-$3 M.

Jones/Black is the primary reserve backcourt.

TDS gets first dibs on backup SF minutes.

There’s a chance Houstan returns and he’d be ahead of Jett too IMO.

I have it as a 9-man rotation:
Suggs/Jones/Richardson
Bane/Black/Howard
F-Wagner/Penda
Banchero/Isaac/da Silva
Carter/Bitadze

I guess da Silva is "next up" when there are fouls issues, etc. But boy am I praying for a healthy team given that deep bench.

p.s. clearly the Magic must sign a C or combo-big with the 14th slot! (e.g. resign M-Wagner)

I tink there is a chance we bring back Caleb or sign another swingman, perhaps on a two-way deal, especially with Suggs and Bane being prone to injuries. If either goes down, you’re basically left with 2 reliable options - Jones and Suggs/Bane.

If AB will play the two, then your only option at the three is either TDS and or Penda who are both not quick enough for SF, imo.

If AB plays the 3, you lack another guard.

Then we have so much money tied up for the 4 and 5 position.

WCJ/Moe/goga
paolo/isaac/tds/penda

That’s almost half of our guaranteed roster spots playing only 2 positions.

Other than the luxury tax element, I could see the Magic preferring a slightly larger contract for future trade purposes.

think you need to swap Penda and TDS roles.

Giannis and his G league squad. :D

I don't think we would match that well vs Knicks.

OG; Mikal, not much options to exploit Towns, Brunson would bait Suggs into 6 fouls in 12 min every game

Flop-merchant and Kat might ve hard to stop... but we should also hunt them like what IND and BOS did

Their best defenders defend same spots majority of Magic offense is coming from. Wings.

They gutted out Boston. In retrospective, there was something so damn wrong with Celtics in playoffs, even before Tatum injury.

Pacers offense just wracked havoc on Knicks defense because their ball movement overwhelmed them. They did the same to OKC, if Hali didn't snap a leg, we could have had different conversation about East and different champion today.

Their best defenders can stop Franz and Bane.. but no way in heck can you tell me KAT can even think of guarding PB. If they send Mitch, he is swiss xheese in the perimeter

He is 6'9 in shoes, like Paolo is 6'10 in shoes. He is strong, athletic & a very good defender. He is fast enough to stay in front of Paolo & long & strong enough to bother him. Except Mobley there are not many more ideal Paolo defenders in the east than him.

Paolo has 30 lbs on him. Paolo will just truck him over downlow.

thats what we want. but i havent been seeing him do that much. does more fade away jumpers

Think the oblique injury gave him some ptsd. But he usually bullies those weaker than him

Feels like I’d rather have Houstan than Jett. Much cheaper and much better shooter. Don’t get how Jett survived.

I agree with you. The best result is that we trade Jett for nothing (release 5.5m), re-sign MoW (27m/3y) and Houstan (2.3m, vet. min).
However, I have no idea how we can dump Jett.
I don't believe Marks # includes Penda's non-guaranteed salary which will be around $2M. That leaves around $6M to sign both Moe and Caleb. Maybe we can dump Jett's salary into someone's TPE.

The pressure to have a respectable offense now lies on Mosley, Paolo, and Franz. They have the necessary pieces to cut the excuses barring injuries.

When the Magic were below the cap, the pro-JI crowd could argue that his salary wasn't problematic regardless of what he gave you on the court. It's difficult to take that position with the current cap situation and the team looking to maximize its assets. That $15 mil would be pretty useful right now. But we're well past the point of the JI situation making any sense. It wouldn't surprise me if the DeVos family has given that guy an unspoken lifetime contract for reasons that go beyond basketball. He is going into his ninth season with the team. Say it out loud and it sounds insane.

??? JI should command a lot of interest given the contract terms. I'd have thought so anyway.

Moe coming off the injury probably wouldn't be viewed around the league as much more than a vet min type of guy. Who is going to give him a larger contract?
